I completely forgot, I just went online to purchase a sustainable gift box. I spent more than usual because I felt so guilty. I feel I should be looking out for my mother more in these times. I can't be the only one to forget?

I got a plant for the garden which I will go up and plant on Sunday, and she can watch through the window. I’m also intending making a bagged up afternoon tea which I’ll leave in the porch, and do the same for their next door neighbours who keep an eye on them.

I sent my mum some books so she'll have something to do while she's stuck at home. We gave MIL some flowers when we saw her last week.

Isthistrueor · 20/03/2020 16:37

I sent her a card and she text me to thank me and said she totally forgot about Mother’s Day Grin.

Useryokyesno · 20/03/2020 16:39

I bought flowers at the supermarket this morning as I was buying food shopping. My mum doesn't live far away and isn't elderly or with health conditions. So still undecided if I'll see her or just leave them for her.

TSSDNCOP · 20/03/2020 16:40

Yes my poor mum is in lockdown. I bought her 6 new paperback books and a new iPad. She’s ok Grin

Waspie · 20/03/2020 16:45

Good point DriveMeCrazy, I'll remind them about iPlayer Smile

I can keep the subscription going and it will do for Father's Day too: my dad is already missing going to the pub to watch the football!

Bubblemonkey · 20/03/2020 16:46

I sent my mam a card via moonpig. I’m Isolated & she’s considered high risk

tealandteal · 20/03/2020 16:46

I've got my mum an Audible subscription for 3 months hopefully will help pass the time.

WelcomeToTheAssEatery · 20/03/2020 16:47

I haven't BROUGHT one. Nor have I bought one.
Why do people do this ridiculous thing of saying brought rather than bought? Boils my wee wee.

I8toys · 20/03/2020 16:52

Got My mum - smellies for a pampering session, puzzle book, disaronno, orchid - and got together a bag of books and magazines for her isolation.

For MIL - some window bulb pots to plant, jigsaw and puzzle books.

Greendin · 20/03/2020 16:52

Yes, got the card and present when I got paid at the end of February. Unfortunately my Mum has got a gift card for a high street store but I'm hoping my niece will help her spend it online (my Mother is scared of online shopping!).

ILikeyourHairyHands · 20/03/2020 17:04

Pasta Evangelists are doing an isolation care-kit. Threee artisan pasta meal-kits, they donate £5 to Age Concern for each one sold and it fits through the letter box. So I sent her one of those.

If your Mum's a bit of a foodie it's a good option!

ValleyoftheHorses · 20/03/2020 17:12

Yes she has a card from me plus talc and notelets- what she wanted.
She has a card and homemade bookmark from DS.
As we can’t be together we are cooking a Sunday roast and dropping it round for them to eat at home.

missmouse101 · 20/03/2020 17:16

Yes I bought her flowers. They will be brought by delivery van tomorrow.

MoonBlood · 20/03/2020 17:31

I was making a meal for my stepmother on the weekend and taking my mother out for afternoon tea at a posh hotel on sunday but both have had to be cancelled. Ive ordered flowers to be delivered now instead.

SoupDragon · 20/03/2020 17:33

I sent my mum a parcel earlier in the week. 2 toilet rolls, a bar of soap, bottle of hand sanitiser and a Lindt chocolate bunny. She loved it. :)
