Was this absolutely necessary? Aren't we suffering enough??

OP posts:
Inspiralcarpetry · 19/03/2020 18:22

If they're making twats of themselves singing Imagine whilst making fat donations to their local foodbank then ok. If they're just making twats of themselves to boost their own image then...jog on

PuppyMonkey · 19/03/2020 18:24

It is a dreadfully dull song, there’s no denying it.

motherheroic · 19/03/2020 18:29

Why couldn't they all sing along to the same karaoke track. They were all over the place and some looked like they had a gun to their head!

managinged · 19/03/2020 18:32

Yeah, this is the type of clueless celeb behaviour that Michael Winter bottom is ridiculing in his movie, "Greed". Oh, and then there's Gisele Bundchen posting selfies during her beach vacation in Costa Rica. Presumably she and Tom will fly back to the U.S. in a private jet.

iklboo · 19/03/2020 18:41

Aw but look at their earnest little faces and head wobbles. Just listen to all the wibbly wobbly strangled cats voices.

DeeCeeCherry · 19/03/2020 18:43

Who is the woman who films herself in the mirror whilst bellowing her line like a rutting stag?
GrinGrinGrin

Sparklesocks · 19/03/2020 18:44

It’s so tone deaf. If you’re a celeb who wants to help, chuck some cash at the problem - people aren’t going to be reassured by a bunch of famous people singing when they can’t buy basic food or are worried about losing their job/security/home...

OlaEliza · 19/03/2020 18:49

Do they think they are going to be the 'feed the world' (was it called feed the world?) of this pandemic?

I don't like the Beatles much anyway and this had to be one of their worst songs.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 19/03/2020 18:49

That’s all we need on top of this virus....

LakieLady · 19/03/2020 18:52

@redwoodmazza, we're almost the same age, I was 25 a little earlier that year.

Starbuck8419 · 19/03/2020 18:53

Celebs have got to turn everything into an opportunity to just keep being noticed. It’s vile.

Yikes, that was grim!

Its awful,i laughed at it.They would be better putting some money towards some charities..But the slagging they are getting on Twitter is merciless Grin

Inspiralcarpetry · 19/03/2020 19:17

Couldn't get through more than a minute of it, but that was funny as hell. Earnest, head tilted celebrity faces clearly thinking they are doing good for the world, lol. Bless (sarcastic)

iklboo · 19/03/2020 19:23

Glee it most certainly ain't

AgeLikeWine · 19/03/2020 19:24

Lennon was a genius, but ‘Imagine’ is a cringeingly awful song. A sanctimonious hypocritical multi-millionaire in his mansion telling the rest of us to ‘imagine no possessions’. Fuck off, mate.

The thought of a bunch of virtue-signalling celebrities inflicting this on us to raise their own profiles is nauseating.

Olderthangoogle · 19/03/2020 19:43

One comment that made me laugh about this video was 'why the hell would you want to imagine there's no heaven at a time like this !' LOL

TheRattleBag · 19/03/2020 19:55

Well that's something I'll never unhear ConfusedAngry

Lordfrontpaw · 19/03/2020 19:58

True, strange choice. Something upbeat may have been a better choice.

StillDisappointed · 19/03/2020 20:00

I can't work out if they're all taking the piss or not. All the warbling, head tilting, forlorn looks - it's uncomfortable.
And tone deaf for good measure Grin

Butteredtoast55 · 19/03/2020 20:13

Hate the song too....soulless, sanctimonious bollocks.

Butteredtoast55 · 19/03/2020 20:14

I haven't watched the video. I’m a primary HT and feel I have suffered enough for one day!

Nuffaluff · 19/03/2020 20:30

It’s awful. ‘Imagine allllll the peopuowawawall...’ John Lennon is spinning in his grave.
And Gal Gadot going on about how ‘we’re all in this together’ while she’s standing in her luxury house.
She seems to be enjoying this situation. Yeah, your experience is just exactly the same as a family of four being shut up in a high rise tower block. Or a family whose parents are medical staff. Or a family where one or both parents have just lost their jobs. Or a family dealing with Coronavirus when they’re already experiencing civil war or living under an oppressive regime.
Self promoting narcissistic arseholes, the lot of them.
Honestly, I don’t mind Hanks last week telling us about his experience with Coronavirus, but these people. Actors. Ugh.
