Where to buy freezer

Out of stock everywhere. I didn't think we would need an additional freezer, but we now will and can't find any under counter freezer, I did notice last week when I was browsing they were out of stock then.

Try second hand shops.

chococo · 19/03/2020 13:49

I did. They are all out in my area

Nowhere. I looked everywhere I could think of. There's none!

Dzundza · 19/03/2020 13:51

One of my friends needed a fridge after hers broke down and could only buy the one in the shop window. Which works fine by the way.

Finfintytint · 19/03/2020 14:01

AppliancesDirect is showing a couple in stock and a few others with April delivery dates.

Lockheart · 19/03/2020 14:03

If you're buying one because you want to stockpile, I'd really urge you not to. It's people panic-stockpiling that are causing the shortages.

coronamoana · 19/03/2020 14:04

they will be ££££ now

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/03/2020 14:14

I ordered a freezer from Appliances Online last week, but yesterday they cancelled my order. The stock they were expecting hadn't arrived. Always best to check!

I ended up buying locally, an ex display one.

chococo · 19/03/2020 14:28

I already saw appliances direct, the earliest delivery slot is may!😬

Yes I agree. And it must be awful if your only freezer breaks down and you can't get another one because people are panic buying freezers.

hilbil21 · 19/03/2020 14:36

My son is autistic so it's not really stockpiling it would just be to have more than one box of fish fingers, one packet of nuggets etc. He has a very beige diet lol

MsMD · 19/03/2020 14:42

You don't need an additional freezer. Stop buying more than you need.

Stickybeaksid · 19/03/2020 14:49

Can I just remind all of you that the shops will be full again. The shops in Ireland were bad last week and it’s fully back to normal this week.

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/03/2020 14:49

People do need to replace appliances. People locked in their houses for three months are wise to do lots of baking and batch cooking. I am also "stockpiling" books and sewing suppliesGrin ps have not bought a single toilet roll.

Fuss · 19/03/2020 15:44

Elderly aunt bought one from a small local electrical store and it was delivered today.
She needs to stockpile as both over 70 and no children. I'm too far away to do much but will travel if needed.

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/03/2020 15:57

That is the problem for many, fuss. We are elderly and adult DCs also having to self isolate....Mother's Day cancelled this year...but the main thing is to try and be organised.

They won't if people won't stop being stupid.

maslinpan · 19/03/2020 16:42

Now that supermarkets are starting to restrict how many items you can buy, we should start to see the shelves staying fuller for longer, and that will calm people's fears. Hopefully

MartinJD1976 · 19/03/2020 16:46

Another freezer? Awful behaviour which should be called out for what it is IMO, deeply selfish.

Best,
MJD

Breathingbecominganissue · 19/03/2020 16:48

There are loads of (new) freezers on Ebay.

Finfintytint · 19/03/2020 16:50

I’ve always had a second freezer. I’m a batch cooker and natural prepper. Not in the supermarkets this week so not panic buying.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 19/03/2020 16:56

Have you tried very?

Apolloanddaphne · 19/03/2020 17:05

I was in Curry's yesterday buying a tablet for my DM to keep in touch. The salesperson said they had completely sold out of freezers a few days previously.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 19/03/2020 17:17

I've always had 2 freezers as well. Both filled to bursting with all my prepped meals. Always cook double and freeze half. Quite glad of it now as it means we don't need anything apart from fresh stuff for about a month, and we still have our milkman for the basics.

I'd be getting another one, but have nowhere to put it.Grin

NovemberRain2 · 19/03/2020 18:03

Why do you need another freezer?
