My Partner Is A Selfish Twit!!

Moodymagpie · 19/03/2020 09:22

DD aged 6, DD aged 2 and myself are in lock down due to new coughs and temperatures. We also have a 6 month old DD here.... My partner refuses to self isolate and has gone to work!

He said nothing was wrong with him so hes fine to work. Refuses to come home.. I told him about the government restrictions and how we should ALL be isolating. Apparently it doesn't apply to him.

Selfish fucker!

The level of selfishness around at the moment is truly breathtaking.

I'd put his stuff in the shed.

LINABE · 19/03/2020 11:26

What a disgusting person. Had enough of this. Lockdown and Military now because of twats like him.

TryingToBeBold · 19/03/2020 11:36

Will he get paid if he self isolates?

elessar · 19/03/2020 11:40

Yes he's selfish.

Not really on topic but if you lost all your respect for him 5 years ago, why did you go on to have two more children with this man?

MadameMeursault · 19/03/2020 11:50

He’s an arse. The sooner the lockdown comes and the army are on the streets stopping twats like him wilfully putting people’s lives at risk the better. Just off to give blood, wish I could specify it doesn’t go to selfish cunts! (Or gammons for that matter)

Homkaismycat · 19/03/2020 12:00

I was today in two different shops and in both Shops people coughing so badly, I mean so badly that I’m pretty sure they must had it.
All had kids with them, buying chocolates etc..
No wonder this spreads if people not self isolating!!

Koffeeinmycup · 19/03/2020 12:00

Sorry i pressed YABU but meant to press YANBU. He is a twat. Hope you and your kids are safe xx

tara66 · 19/03/2020 12:04

Perhaps police checks will be made on everyone going any where - as in France since Monday - people have to fill in form before they go anywhere saying where they are going and why and then give it to police who stop them at road blocks and question them - if it is really necessary like getting food or medicine or they won't have contact with anyone - it's allowed. Perhaps army will do that here as not enough police. There are even restrictions about dog walking in the country in France - how far from house you can go.

AddressLabel · 19/03/2020 12:38

I have a cold and this morning at work thought I was getting a sore throat. Told my boss who wouldn’t let me go home as I have no other symptoms and I’ve had the cold since last week.
So I can’t self isolate if I want to keep my job. It’s not as easy as people are making it out to be. People aren’t going to risk poverty “just in case”.

samb80 · 19/03/2020 13:27

I wonder how many separations and divorces this virus will inflict!!

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 19/03/2020 13:28

there's a lot of stupidity and selfishness around. My company won't let us work from home even though our jobs are computer based and we have laptops and the ability to log in remotely. They think we'll skive off so we're all here, passing our germs around.

AlexaAmbidextra · 19/03/2020 13:51

So you lost respect for him five years ago but have had two further children with him since then? Confused

MrsXx4 · 19/03/2020 14:00

This virus has confirmed for me that I want a divorce. I can’t bear my husband’s attitude thinking he is above this and carrying on as normal while I stay home in isolation everyday with our baby.

I’ve just got to get through now for however long this takes as I have nowhere else to go.

Notajogger · 19/03/2020 14:14

It's people like him who are causing loved ones to die. They're effectively killing people.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 19/03/2020 14:21

Well then he can stay at a hotel to avoid potentially passing the virus on to you and the kids, can't he? Or sleep on the floor at the office.

I don't think you understand how this works. He should be self isolating BECAUSE the OP and the children have symptoms. He should be staying in the house with them so he doesn't pass it on to people outside of the family Hmm

Ponoka7 · 19/03/2020 14:36

This is why we need testing and prosecutions.

He isn't just risking those he's coming into contact with. It's because of the likes of him, we will go into full lock down.

I think they are waiting to see the behaviour at the weekend and then will decide to what extent people can be trusted.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 19/03/2020 14:56

Out here in Spain 209 people died in the last 24 hours, a jump of 30% overnight. It’s nowhere near the peak yet.

I see what’s going on at home and I am incredulous at the stupidity and self obsession of many people.

Why in earth would you want to inflict this person on your children?

LakieLady · 19/03/2020 15:09

What a disgusting person. Had enough of this. Lockdown and Military now because of twats like him

Normally, I'm one of the first to be shouting about infringing people's civil liberties, but people's lives are actually more important.

I'd be happy if people who refused to self-isolate were locked up for a goodly long time. People will die because of these selfish twats.

Having said that, I'm also happy to put my money where my mouth is and if there are any charities that are helping people out with things like paying for their energy while this goes, I'd like to make a donation.

LHMBF · 19/03/2020 15:47

4 people where my partner works have gone into work with temperatures and coughs and as a result I bloody have it!!

LakieLady · 19/03/2020 16:08

My company won't let us work from home even though our jobs are computer based and we have laptops and the ability to log in remotely. They think we'll skive off so we're all here, passing our germs around.

I think firms that take that attitude should be prosecuted as well. It's really irresponsible.

The organisation I work for is more likely to make it a disciplinary matter if you came in when you should be self-isolating. I've been off for a week, and haven't bothered logging on or checking emails as I'm officially on leave, so I don't know the latest, but they reminded everyone of the need to be careful about security/confidentiality if working when other people are in the house as early as the start of last week, in anticipation that there'd be a lot of people working from home.

But then they're an organisation that values and respects their staff, and treats them like adults.

LakieLady · 19/03/2020 16:15

in France since Monday - people have to fill in form before they go anywhere saying where they are going and why and then give it to police who stop them at road blocks and question them

And, despite their love of tyre-burning and rioting Wink, they seem to be accepting it. The French culture/psyche would appear to be more community minded than ours.

Moodymagpie · 19/03/2020 16:34

The reason I lost respect doesn't matter. He made a mistake, as we all do. I forgave.

OP posts:
pooopypants · 19/03/2020 16:41

You 'forgave' him, after losing all respect for him.... but he's still a twat. And you had more kids with him Hmm

Mistystar99 · 19/03/2020 21:21

You keep on having kids with the fuckwit!!

monkeymonkey2010 · 20/03/2020 18:00

I lost the majority of respect for him 5 years ago...
Didn't stop you going on to have two more kids to him......
