Where to buy calpol

chococo · 18/03/2020 20:52

I've been searching for calpol the last 2 days, I need it and can not find it anywhere! Went to 6 different stores today alone, even had family friends look for it for me. Not in stock anywhere. Can't find online either. Is stock not coming in? All the stores have said they have been out since it all sold out. What should I do then! This is so frustrating

We got some at a petrol garage, DS is actually unwell

FthisS · 18/03/2020 20:55

Try very small corner shops and independent pharmacies.

formerbabe · 18/03/2020 20:55

I went to seven different shops today looking for some. No joy. Dh eventually found it at a shop in one of the main line London train stations.

bloodywhitecat · 18/03/2020 20:57

Likewise. Live rurally and can't find the stuff anywhere, I have a poorly baby too.

devildeepbluesea · 18/03/2020 20:58

Plenty in my local pharmacy.

CheeseCrackersAndWine · 18/03/2020 20:58

Not calpol but our Asda have had plenty stock of their own brand kids paracetamol.

Homemadearmy · 18/03/2020 20:59

Some pharmacys are keeping it behind the counter so you have to ask for it.
Homebargains had some yesterday

Ohpleaseno · 18/03/2020 20:59

I got some from chemist direct online paid a tenner for 2 bottles mind!

Masalatea · 18/03/2020 20:59

I'd check in pharmacies over supermarkets. Our local, independent pharmacy has good stock.

Ohpleaseno · 18/03/2020 21:00

Oh sorry it was chemist 4 u

Dancingfairydreams · 18/03/2020 21:00

Have you tried places like the range & b&m? They ones near me seem to be fairly unscathed in relation to medication, nappies, cleaning stuff. Worth a try maybe

chococo · 18/03/2020 21:00

Where do you live cheesecracker
My ASDA is empty on all paracetamol and calpol, even own brand

I luckily found some in a tiny pharmacy where we live, they just had a delivery. All the big stores (Boots, superdrug) had nothing at all.

My partner found some for his colleague in another independent pharmacy, they did have it behind the counter instead of the usual place, with Paracetamol for adults also hidden away.

chococo · 18/03/2020 21:03

Just checked chemist 4 u all out of stock

I got mine from the local Spar. I called and asked as my daughter has chicken pox. They only had sachets and they put them aside for me when I explained. Good luck, it was terrifying for me as you obviously can't have ibuprofen with chicken pox and her temperature was soaring.

RainbowMum11 · 18/03/2020 21:07

Small shops seem to be better stocked as people have forgotten about them.
Does your area have a community group on FB? If so, join it and post on there, someone will have some I'm sure x

goolish · 18/03/2020 21:07

My local pharmacy had none on the shelves and I nearly gave up but asked when they'd order more in and they were keeping it out the back deliberately. People who genuinely need it more likely to queue and ask not just grab and panic buy. Also they could enforce one per customer then too. Have you tried asking at pharmacies?

Whataboutthismess · 18/03/2020 21:07

@WTFdidwedo Chickenpox doesn't typically have a fever. If your child has a fever with Chickenpox you would need to contact a GP to see if the spots have become infected.

PepsiLola · 18/03/2020 21:08

We got some from Saver's if you have one of those locally?

AlCalavicci · 18/03/2020 21:09

I second going to local shops , I went to mine to top up gas & elecy they had pasta loo rolls eggs calpol aspirin the owner was been sensible a guy came in for beer and saw the calpol then asked for 6 bottles
( imo you would ask for the calpol 1st not once you saw it on the shelf near the beer )
the owner asked if it was his child that was ill, guy fumbled his reply owner asked how old the child was again he fumbled his answer owner asked the childs name , this was all done in a very friendly chatting kind of way , the guy said well FUCK YOU and stormed off .
the owner said that he would of sold him on bottle today and he would of reserved another bottle for him for the following day if he wanted it

Smithtylater · 18/03/2020 21:09

Check newsagents/corner shops/ petrol stations. I managed to get a bottle from a BP garage, they have it behind the till with all the medicines.

Gruffalosandbuffalos · 18/03/2020 21:10

My local Aldi had plenty in earlier in the week.

WTFdidwedo · 18/03/2020 21:11

@Whataboutthismess the symptoms of chicken pox are literally spots and a high temperature... www.nhs.uk/conditions/chickenpox/

chococo · 18/03/2020 21:14

Not tried range but am really doubting it. Went b&m and they are out too
