PandaG · 16/03/2020 00:50

Attic24, Bella Coco as already said, but also Patchwork heart for crochet.

I will knit and crochet, bit of embroidery, sewing. I have plenty of cleaning and tidying to do.
Will need to do some exercise, so maybe weights with cans, find Pilates online,
Also board games with family and online board games with friends.

Reading and studying, and reading for my dissertation. Plenty to do, but I will really miss social interaction.

I can kill any amount of time playing board games. Love them!

LellyMcKelly · 16/03/2020 07:59

I’ve bought some paint. I’m going to paint my hall and landing.

WhoAmIGoingToBeToday · 17/03/2020 22:35

Thanks for starting this thread OP. Will have to fit work in somehow around the children, but am hoping to have plenty of time to get jobs done and also some time for me, so these suggestions are great.

Doobigetta · 17/03/2020 22:56

I'm not sure everyone on this thread understands self isolating, you won't be able to go outside

That is not correct. If you aren’t ill it’s perfectly fine to go out for a walk, assuming you aren’t bounding up to people and licking them. People will go stir crazy if they’re actually stuck indoors, it isn’t helpful to spread that kind of misinformation.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/03/2020 23:10

I've got some hollow practice golf balls which only fly a couple of feet so I'll be perfecting my swing

Gazelda · 17/03/2020 23:15

Working from home.
Supervising DD when school closes
Decluttering
Making photo books
Sewing
Some exercise
Gardening
Reading through the piles of mags I subscribe to but never read. I'll then leave them on the garden wall for passers-by to help themselves.
Lego
Trying to resist online shopping
Planning the mother of all holidays for 2021

The last 2 assumes neither I nor DH lose our jobs during these uncertain times

Lozz22 · 17/03/2020 23:21

Bella Coco on u tube is a good one to learn crocheting. Well it is if you can follow it I'm a tad dim!! Although I did kind of manage to crochet a rather wonky looking blanket for one of my Angels memory box

MulticolourMophead · 18/03/2020 08:09

I got an email from a wool company I havecoreviously ordered from, saying they are having some delays in dispatching orders. Due to some of their staff being off, and a big increase in orders.

Guess a lot of people are getting ready for lockdown 😁

housemdwaswrong · 18/03/2020 08:15

You can get audio books fromn most libraries and you can join then online. I did last night. 10 audiobooks at any one time. Audible is so expensive.

lyralalala · 18/03/2020 08:47

You can buy Theme Hospital, and Rollercoaster Tycoon, from gog.com

They have loads of retro games that have been tweaked to run on current software.

iknowimcoming · 18/03/2020 09:13

Was thinking last night I will also start making Christmas present lists and write my Xmas cards (if as per usual I have cards leftover from last year)

Doobigetta · 18/03/2020 09:29

Could someone suggest what to buy for people who want to learn to knit? E.g. best size and type of needles and yarn to start with? (Preferably stuff available on Amazon...)

iknowimcoming · 18/03/2020 09:58

@doobigetta - if you can get to a shop or include it with an online delivery the crafty magazines are quite good to start with as they come with wool, needles and a beginners guide in each issue. You could even subscribe to one and then you'd get stuff delivered monthly? Knitting and crochet, or your crochet and knitting spring to mind. (I don't work for them)

Doobigetta · 18/03/2020 10:03

Excellent, thanks iknow.

puds11 · 18/03/2020 10:06

I’m going to paint the bedroom, write a book and do some reading for work.

The house will be on point!

BeautifulBirds · 18/03/2020 10:10

Reed.co.uk has loads of adult learning courses, some free, some massively discounted.

DustyMaiden · 18/03/2020 15:27

@housemdwaswrong
Thanks, I never knew that.

wehaveafloater · 18/03/2020 15:40

Quite jealous of you all as I will be working still, all the way through the next 18 months and more !

motherheroic · 18/03/2020 17:11

I have some half done knitting and cross stitch stuff that I could finisb.

I also have a brand new unused iPad that's been sitting in the box for months that I might finally start drawing on.

Currently me and my mom are doing co-op on the game Overcooked 2 for the Nintendo Switch. But once Animal Crossing gets delivered we are switching over to that.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 18/03/2020 17:19

I am going to have a good spring clean of the house and de clutter my waldrobe and cupboards.
I have also bought in all I need to knock to garden into shape.
I have linseed oil to do the summer house, wood Care paint for the sheds, a new deck broom to clean the patio and compost and seeds to get started. I have also got in plenty of garden sacks and a new arch to make for over the path.
Plenty of keep me going for several weeks.

solarisbabe · 18/03/2020 17:30

Can I ask for board game recommendations please?
