Am off to Hobbycraft in a mo to see what I can pick up.

PenguinsOnParade · 15/03/2020 14:25

I'm watching NCIS on Amazon Prime. 14 seasons so plenty to get through.

We have a gaming laptop, Switch, PS3 and XBox One so plenty of gaming for everyone too.

I also hoard books and my to-read pile is growing faster than I'm reading.

I'm sorted for months if it came to it. Grin

I just ordered myself some Lego and we have some new board games stashed

Peridot1 · 15/03/2020 14:26

We are currently getting house ready to put on the market so have lots to do.

Have decorators in this week and once they finish I will be decluttering and sorting room by room.

Have a cupboard and shelf unit I bought last year to paint so I might do that.

Lots of gardening which I hate but we have a big area to get ready to put lawn seed down so might help DH do that.

Sort out all our photos. I’d like to get some photo books made.

Research family tree.

Reading and tv.

Jigsaws.

Walking on treadmill listening to audio books.

In reality I seem to be spending most of my time on here reading about it all.

squashyhat · 15/03/2020 14:29

Quizzes on sporcle.com.

Glowcat · 15/03/2020 14:31

I’m wondering if it’s time to buy the Sims4. I have three and all the expansion packs but I haven’t touched them for years.

trivial pursuit got that already might top up on books from the charity shop, have a back room full of boxes from moving house to tackle, a garden that needs sorting out both front and back

Nubbled · 15/03/2020 14:35

What a great thread! Thank you @Glowcat

BrowncoatWaffles · 15/03/2020 14:39

DH and I are plotting a Parks and Rec marathon. I have wool and hooks to teach myself to crochet. Exercise-wise I already have a subscription to the DDP Yoga app and do an hour a day - I will be busting out the kids workouts to get the DC involved too. Have also bought them Just Dance to keep us moving.

There is also a lot of baking going to happen in my future (so yoga in part must offset cake!).

TankGirl97 · 15/03/2020 14:41

@Glowcat, attic24 blog is fantastic for learning to crochet. She writes her patterns so clearly. Also just look on YouTube for granny square tutorials.

HardWorkShy · 15/03/2020 14:43

DIY/painting.

Shannith · 15/03/2020 14:46

Learn dressage tests (niche).

Get free furniture on Freecycle and give DC some paints - stick newspaper/sheets down and let them design their own bedroom furniture. Got a bookshelf for free a while ago, have it a base coat and have let DD have free rein. It's been the most popular craft activity ever by miles. She's spent hours on it.

And useful too. As you have a piece of furniture they will love.

I WFH anyway so have a lot of free time. I do spend a lot of time walking dogs/riding both of which I hope I can carry in doing as live semi rurally.

Yoga is good, I have a yoga ball with makes it a bit more fun. I lift small weights too when I remember. If I get my arse in gear and do even 10 mins a day I have arms like Michelle Obama (well, sort of)

I've just taken over a paint by numbers I got for DD for Christmas. It's actually very difficult- it's an adult one and you do have to mix and blend your colours. Actually very satisfying and takes ages to do it well.

I can draw/paint reasonably well but there is something very soothing about Jack bff a limited set of colours and knowing what to put where.

Newuname199987 · 15/03/2020 14:46

Try Bella Coco online for crochet

Shannith · 15/03/2020 14:49

Hello Jack bff who are you and how on earth did autocorrect stick you into that sentence?

Another project - work out how to tame my phone's random autocorrect. Or get better at typing legible words on my phone.

Deux · 15/03/2020 14:50

There are some South Korean bloggers I find really soothing. It’s all close ups of the food they’re cooking, not much chat, muted colours, wooden utensils. Try: Ondo; Ivy Kitchen; PlanD

Another vote for Bella Coco for UK based crochet.

I permanently have a massive 'to do' list. Have been saying for many years I could really do with a situation where I was forced to stay at home for a month without actually feeling ill.
I hesitate to post this, as I don't, in any way wish to trivialise what is happening, but there is a tiny little feeling of 'every cloud having a silver lining' Blush

So much house work; decluttering; doing those housework / DIY jobs that never get to the top of the list; paperwork (or whatever we call it when it is on-line); sorting through all my photos / deleting / printing / labeling ; sorting through the filing cabinet that has documentation in it from I don't know when; going through my e-mails and clearing out everything I no longer need or shouldn't still have due to GDPR ; catching up n paperwork and e-mails to do with hobby/volunteering ; trying on clothes and having a real clothes declutter since my weight gain ; writing some letters to people I've been meaning to get in touch with / visit; decluttering things like duvets and towels and kitchen stuff now some of dc are grown / not at home ; empyting the freezer and having a clearout and defrosting it ;
I could occupy myself for several weeks without even starting on nice things like box set / some DVDs I want to watch / reading books / doing jigsaws and so forth. Smile

I've just realised there's going to be a lot of conceptions come out of this!

My friend just texted me to inform me the sex shop sales have shot up apparently. Great to know eh?!

I'll be inside with a 3 & 7 year old (LP) so not much of any "adult" activity happening. 3 Year old has a fit if he loses so games are off the menu. They can do puzzle books and make dens etc and I'll MN inbetween the fights.

RB68 · 15/03/2020 15:16

lots of small businesses are doing online things t try and keep income and going on - a lady local to me is doing a sew along at 4pm today so going to watch (not sew as not organised enough yet). But look for more. I am a complete craft aholic so could do silkpainting, sewing, felting, feltie sewing, painting, cardmaking, kitting, crochet or a gazillion othr things which are always on my list - lol. I also enjoy a good read and you tube rabiitholing

mogtheexcellent · 15/03/2020 15:29
