Cancelling a prepaid appointment

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:22

I had an appointment today (microblading top up). I had to cancel for various reasons. I had paid in full when I had the original appointment.

Unfortunately, I was only able to give 2 hours notice of the cancellation. I messaged and said that I understood I wouldn't get a refund.

The therapist is now requesting a £60 cancellation fee as well as keeping my payment.

I'm saying no! It wasn't in the T&C and it makes so sense that it would cost me more to not go than go!

Am I being totally out of order? I don't think I am but really confused being as she asked in the first place.

She’s being greedy - you paid in full so she has what she’s owed for the time that was missed!!!

TheQueef · 12/03/2020 20:24

She was paid on full?

mrscatalano · 12/03/2020 20:24

She's fucking batshit, tell her to piss off!

Herpesfreesince03 · 12/03/2020 20:25

If you’ve paid in full then of course she doesn’t get a cancellation fee?? She’s lucky you didn’t just pay a deposit as she’d have lost out. Cheeky twat!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:25

@TheQueef yes, in full. If I hadn't paid in full then I would have paid her when I cancelled.

She’s having a laugh.

GruciusMalfoy · 12/03/2020 20:26

You've paid in full already, you dont owe her anything else. I'd check that she remembers your already paid for the appointment.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:26

Phew! I was thinking I was an unreasonable cow

OP posts:
GruciusMalfoy · 12/03/2020 20:26

You already paid*

TheQueef · 12/03/2020 20:28

She's bonkers, does she think you owe compensation for your good company?

Hope her talents are in eyebrows.

RandomMess · 12/03/2020 20:29

Bonkers request perhaps she got confused and didn't realise you have already paid in full Confused

SuburbanFraggle · 12/03/2020 20:32

Maybe £60 for someone who didn't turn up and had paid nothing.

Tell her you wanted her to microblade the Platonic Ideal of yourself. You were there in essence.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:35

She appears to have blocked me on messenger now after trying to clarify Hmm I wanted to know if she meant if/when I rebooked the treatment

TotesGodsWill · 12/03/2020 20:36

If you’ve paid in full she’s no worse off by you cancelling (technically better off as no resources used on you) so no reason to make additional charge.

TheQueef · 12/03/2020 20:41

Some people are just puddings, at least you know before letting her at your face with a razor.

NotSorry · 12/03/2020 20:44

Greedy cow - I’d find another therapist

UserV · 12/03/2020 20:47

What the hell is microblading? Confused

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 21:07

UserV basically eyebrow tattooing. It doesn't go as deep and last around 3 years, rather than being permanent.

So you’ve paid in full for the first session which includes a top up session after a couple of weeks right? They wouldn’t have been paid for the top up session but would be out of pocket if they then have to give you another top up booking. I think a reasonable outcome is that you don’t pay for the cancellation but you don’t get the top up. Or you pay the cancellation fee and then can rebook the top up.

cologne4711 · 12/03/2020 21:08

Not a chance! She's got to keep your money! Why on earth would she need a cancellation fee on top?

Just ignore.

Allthecandles · 12/03/2020 21:09

And I don’t thinks that’s because you are to blame. Shit happens that means you can’t attend a booking but it affects both of you.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 21:14

I fully expect I'd have to pay for a new appointment. 2 lost hours would be completely unfair.

RozHuntleysStump · 12/03/2020 21:15

Cheeky bitch

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 21:16

I'd be furious if work cancelled me last minute and said they weren't paying me.

I literally said "I need to cancel my appointment. I'm sorry for the late notice and understand I won't get a refund'

Thanks OP. Never heard of this before. Sounds like some extreme sport that someone buys a 'experience gift token' for. Blush

Oh YANBU by the way! This woman is a CF!
