Cancelling a prepaid appointment

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:22

I had an appointment today (microblading top up). I had to cancel for various reasons. I had paid in full when I had the original appointment.

Unfortunately, I was only able to give 2 hours notice of the cancellation. I messaged and said that I understood I wouldn't get a refund.

The therapist is now requesting a £60 cancellation fee as well as keeping my payment.

I'm saying no! It wasn't in the T&C and it makes so sense that it would cost me more to not go than go!

Am I being totally out of order? I don't think I am but really confused being as she asked in the first place.

She's at it!

Manchestermanchester · 12/03/2020 21:22

Lol did she think you hadn’t pre paid,

I would give her a rating on Facebook or whatever. Be factual, eg like 4 stars but this left you a bit annoyed

WifflyWaffle · 12/03/2020 21:26

She’s a chancer.

YeahWhatevver · 12/03/2020 21:37

Sounds like she's maybe not realised you weren't paying on the day rather than having paid in advance

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 12/03/2020 21:48

I suspect her “logic” is that you paid for two appointments with her, but in actual fact it will take 3 to complete your treatment (initial appointment, todays cancelled one that she probably couldn’t fill, and the rescheduled one).

Scotsrule · 12/03/2020 23:12

Maybe she has room hire to pay?

This would have been factored into the initial appointments but now you would need a third so there is a £60 additional charge.

I know someone who does them and her clients have to pay for her room hire charge, just a thought. Don’t agree with the blocking though.

Manchestermanchester · 12/03/2020 23:39

I’m sure your friend charges the room hire fee as a cancellation fee, not in addition.

CircleofWillis · 13/03/2020 06:26

I would phone her up and say "great does that mean I get amount paid -£60 back if the cancellation fee is only £60?

FloraGreysteel · 13/03/2020 06:31

She's being ridiculous! Cheeky mare!

midnightstar66 · 13/03/2020 06:33

She had the money and didn't even have to do they work... being paid in full is plenty. That's insane!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 13/03/2020 16:24

@JuanSheetIsPlenty

I would have to pay for the new appointment as well as the cancellation fee. That's what I thought first. Wouldn't have had a problem with paying for a new appointment. 2 hours wasted for nothing wouldn't be fair.

Oh well then a cancellation fee can’t be justified in this case. You have paid for two sessions, you haven’t used more than two sessions and if you do you will pay for it too.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 13/03/2020 16:35

Glad I know I'm not an utter cow!
