How late is late? If you re running 30 mins to an hour late I say call the boss with an excuse and go in.

We have to call in sick that morning if we wont be in so that would be no good calling now.
Need more context. Is it an afternoon shift or you were supposed to be in at 9 am?

DD has an appointment tomorrow at 9am - so I could take her there then go get the train and be in for work at noon. Would it just be better to call in sick? I have to work from home on Thursday as I'm at the dentist and my boss is gonna think I'm taking the piss if I say I have an appointment with DD etc. If you call in sick there are no questions asked!

Well boss is equally going to be pissed off if you're 3 hours late for work, surely?
