To think this photo from yesterday’s Royal occasion...

...is like something from an 80s daytime TV drama. Look at Harry! Wills struggling to hide his emotions. Kate wound-up tight, bound by duty and protocol. Everyone looking in the direction of events but, HELLO! Someone’s found the camera! Meghan with her sweet suggestion of a smile, saying ‘thank God I’m getting the hell out of this circus’!

I can imagine the photographer was very pleased when they saw what they’d captured.

I thought the colours worked very well too.
I hope it's not as it looks but I won't lose any sleep either way.

WanderingLost1 · 10/03/2020 11:31

Meghan looks a lot like her (very beautiful) mother here. I can’t usually see the resemblance.

That’s about as far as my interest in the EF extends TBH. I’m fascinated by how we do/don’t look like our relatives!

formerbabe · 10/03/2020 11:31

Ha! It's a corker...I love the royals, it really is like a soap opera. You couldn't make it up

SarahInAccounts · 10/03/2020 11:31

I feel so sorry for William and Kate. I'm sure they'd love to give bleeding heart interviews like H and M.

Or maybe they have more class.

Poor Queenie.

FinalRoyalOuting · 10/03/2020 11:34

What I need is a fecking job shinyredbus but funnily enough my line of work isn’t taking anyone on as things have been ever so slightly affected by recent events.

And yes I’m totally bored, it’s pissing down with rain and am glued to Mumsnet. Will go and do something useful like rearrange damp clothes on radiators, empty dishwasher, put clothes away, Hoover, pair up socks, bake a pie ZZzzzzz

Killjoys.

Right, final royal?! It's just a chatty thread

Thinkingabout1t · 10/03/2020 11:38

It makes me very grateful I'm totally forgettable and unimportant, and therefore my family dramas are not played out on the world stage, for everyone to pick apart and gossip over.

100% agree.

WhenPushComesToShove · 10/03/2020 11:43

From the many photos of the occasion Harry looks very sad and Meg is camera spotting and grinning like a Cheshire cake. For me her apparent lack of awareness in general is what stands out

JinglingHellsBells · 10/03/2020 11:44

You are being ridiculous @FinalRoyalOuting

It's a snap of a nano second in time.

Any snap of any of us might show us with all kinds of expressions. They are meaningless unless in context of what came before and after.

The Mail chose a photo and build a story around it.

If you fell for it, more fool you.

formerbabe · 10/03/2020 11:45

Monarchy is such an outdated concept...if we're gonna have them, then I really want the gossip and drama to be honest Grin

MetalRecycling · 10/03/2020 11:46

Not quite on topic but -
I couldn’t care less about H&M. Don’t care where they live etc. etc. however..........
When I saw the weekend coverage of Meghan at the high school I felt quite sad. What a waste of a fabulous opportunity. The students really seemed to relate to her and she would have made a wonderful ambassador for young people in this country.
Such a pity.

MindyStClaire · 10/03/2020 11:49

Wow that's some over reaching. They look like everyone filing out of every formal event I've ever been to.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/03/2020 11:50

All the very best to Harry and Meghan Flowers.

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 10/03/2020 11:54

You can find 25 other photos taken within the same 2 minutes showing completely different expressions, you know that don't you?

FudgeBrownie2019 · 10/03/2020 11:54

Their faces are the exact faces of anyone ever attending a mildly dull event with family they'd rather not be at.

There's a huge amount of reaching going on with H&M at the moment - stills taken where body language and facial expressions are decoded. Maybe she's smiling because she's just released a spectacular fart. Who knows? Who cares? Except for the British public, because we're slightly eccentric when it comes to Royalty.

SeaViewBliss · 10/03/2020 11:54

I imagine they are all thinking 'People are going to over analyse every expression and every move I make so it doesn't really matter what I do'

@MetalRecycling that's so true - would have been a great ambassador for young people. But maybe its the fact that they are going against the grain that makes them a bit more likable to young people?

Peaseblossom22 · 10/03/2020 11:55

I don’t care what they do but I did wonder what M was wearing , it’s a church service FGS not A fashion show . The whole weird cape thing was very odd .

formerbabe · 10/03/2020 11:56

All the very best to Harry and Meghan

Love sycophantic posts like this... hilarious

campista · 10/03/2020 11:59

Ha ha, op!!
We need a distraction from cv at present 😀😀

MetalRecycling · 10/03/2020 12:08

@SeaViewBliss
Yeah, I hadn’t considered that - you may be right. We’ll probably never know.

Thinkingabout1t · 10/03/2020 12:08

AnneJeanne: I wish Harry and Megan all the best. The English can be intolerably rude to Americans in general but heaven forbid a brown skinned divorce marry one of their princes.

Oh come off it Anne. The media loved her, to start with, thrilled that a prince was marrying a beautiful film star.

It’s not long since they were all mad about Meghan, with make-up and fashion stories on how to get the Markle Sparkle etc. It was all over the papers and television — real adulation. Great delight about a royal wedding.

Then of course they had to find the flaws, as with everyone else who has ever become a media star. Then they would have been setting Meghan against Catherine, as they did with Diana and Sarah in the 1980s. Then Catherine would have been the good one, then Meghan again. Etc etc etc.

Meghan short-circuited that by deciding she wanted Out. She wasn’t used to the carnivorous British tabloids — US papers are a lot more respectful, especially to actors who are likely to have PR people screening all interviewers. The papers weren’t picking on Meghan. You only have to pick up a tabloid to see they do that to everyone.

I think it’s all nonsense. But you would really have to want to find a racism angle. Whereas English people are usually villains in Hollywood movies!

formerbabe · 10/03/2020 12:12

I agree.

Kate can do no wrong now Meghan is here but prior to that, she had lots of unpleasant press...Waity Katie?! Duchess Dolittle and plenty said about her family too.

crapette · 10/03/2020 12:14

it was this or a post about the Corona Virus

Both of which have their own dedicated topics.

MarshaBradyo · 10/03/2020 12:15

Your interpretation made me laugh but honestly most people look like this in the same situation.

What’s Meghan done wrong, honestly, funny
