I had some weird bug a few weeks ago. Now, I am more knackered than when sleep deprived following childbirth.

Has anyone else got this? I have slept pretty much all weekend and am still exhausted. I would quite like to cry but it would take up too much energy.

My mum has also had the Incredible Sleepiness Bug too. Has anyone here had it?

Have you checked for a gas leak, OP?
These were my symptoms when I found out I had an odorless gas leak in my flat. Does your mum live with you?

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:21

@TheVanguardSix Definitely no gas leak. I have the sensors etc. Mum lives elsewhere. She has just informed me that her could be due to an issue she has with her eyes.

So it's just me who has pricked my bastard finger on a spinning wheel at some point.

eurochick · 08/03/2020 10:23

I'm the same. I have a slight temperature and itchy ears but no other symptoms other than extreme sleepiness.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:24

Oooh I have had itchy ears too @eurochick!

I’ve had it for 4 days, I still can’t keep my eyes open and keep drifting in and out of sleep. The only other symptom I have is a fever causing chills and hot flushes, and a strange exhaustion and detachment from everything.
How long until you were over the worst?

Elouie · 08/03/2020 10:31

My daughter has. She's 9 and has been exhausted from a virus she had mid January. She has a nap at lunch time at school to get her through the day. It's been a really rough few months.

BertieBotts · 08/03/2020 10:32

Sounds like a vitamin deficiency, probably caused by a virus depleting your stores. Ask gp for blood tests.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:32

Not over the worst yet @OneStepSideways. Its horrible.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:33

@BertieBotts good idea.

I had that, absolutely wiped me out. Main symptom was exhaustion. Took a week or so but eventually felt better. Flowers

JulietTango · 08/03/2020 10:38

No one's developed a cough yet then 😂😂😂

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:40

@JulietTango Hahahahaha why? WinkGrin

I had this in January. I had a slight cold and temperature, but my main symptom was severe exhaustion. I slept a whole weekend pretty much, then took 3 days off work and slept for around 20 hours of each day. I’ve never known tiredness like it.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:41

@just5morepeas thank God you are out the other side of it!

Mumof1andacat · 08/03/2020 10:41

Look up post viral fatigue. It's real sort secondary type illness following being unwell

SirChing · 08/03/2020 10:44

@Mumof1andacat I was wondering about that, but I have had it before and this feels very different. The exhaustion is like a whole other league. Worse than the sleep exhaustion with babies. I feel so tired it's almost painful. Even my fingers typing this feel tired. It's the weirdest thing.

itslateimsleeping · 08/03/2020 10:55

Glandular fever?

sue1205022 · 08/03/2020 10:57

It's taken me since middle of January to feel human again after a severe chest infection. Mind you I was really really poorly for about 4 weeks, so probably not surprising that I'm only just feeling human again. Still get very very weary quickly but that could also be because of eye surgery and my eyes struggling to work together. Can't be bothered with people either. Put a visitor off twice.

bobstersmum · 08/03/2020 11:01

Starting to think the government has decided to release a load of toxins into the atmosphere to kill us all off! I've been less than 100% for a month now myself, this covid thing will finish me off no doubt.

sue1205022 · 08/03/2020 11:02

Forgot to say - I also keep feeling incredibly hot and it's not hot flushes.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 11:03

@bobstersmum you and me both. We Could have a joint funeral and go halves?

@itslateimsleeping that's actually what it feels like but I havr already had it.

sue1205022 Christ you sound like my mother! But you can't be as she is a Luddite who can barely work a calculator.

I had a really nasty virus this time last year and it took me months to fully recover. In fact I still tire really easily,

RoscoePColtrane · 08/03/2020 11:23

Slept till 3 yesterday, had a wee then slept again until 7, back in bed at 11. Gone deaf in one ear, feel like it's full of water. Also very light headed and dizzy. Perfectly healthy aside from that!

GinasGirl · 08/03/2020 11:31

We were talking about this at work this week, we're all exhausted. Bit achey and sniffly like a mild cold but so, so tired! There were 6 of us who felt like this by the end of Friday.
