To ask who else has this "sleeping sickness"?

I had some weird bug a few weeks ago. Now, I am more knackered than when sleep deprived following childbirth.

Has anyone else got this? I have slept pretty much all weekend and am still exhausted. I would quite like to cry but it would take up too much energy.

My mum has also had the Incredible Sleepiness Bug too. Has anyone here had it?

Yep there is definitely something doing the rounds.

Me! And dd2. Both had a mild fluent type thing a few weeks ago, have felt exhausted ever since. She's been going to bed at 7 and sleeping through till the next morning and I've been going not much later myself.

Just knackered all the time.

I've started taking vitamins and im making sure to eat well and lots of veg and fruit, lots of water. Nothing seems to be making much difference.

A friend had this kind of exhaustion after a virus a few years ago. Sadly it didn't go away and she was later diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue syndrome caused by a post viral reaction. Might be worth looking into if you don't start to feel better as there are ways of managing this condition .

DorisDaylightSaving · 08/03/2020 12:17

@sirching I think it's worth talking to a doctor. Try and actually SEE a doctor, not a nurse practitioner. How can they possibly diagnose or rule out stuff without actually seeing the patient.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 12:18

@CeibaTree I have fibromyalgia with a hefty side dose of CFS. The fibro is currently ok, but the tiredness feels different to the CFS tiredness. It's hard to explain how. I hope your friend is managing ok? What are the things that helped her the most?

@DorisDaylightSaving Good plan. I shall give it a few days in case it's just a virus that's doing the rounds. Dont want to go to the GP and end up with extra lurgy on top of this. If I still feel terrible in a few days then I shall go in and ask for bloods sound etc. And see a GP. NPs can be good but with my existing health issues I do need to see a GP I think.

No idea where the random "sound" came from in that. PS love your name @DorisDaylightSaving

Thanks re my name. I was wracking my brains and was talking to my very weird but much loved daughter and she suggested it. I'll tell her that someone loves it. I nearly went with 'absolutelyfantasticmum' but I just know that that would have been laughed out of the court.

SirChing · 08/03/2020 12:49

@DorisDaylightSaving your DD sounds fabulous! The vast majority of us are absolutely fantastic mums so it wouldn't have narrowed down who you are Grin Ta for the advice.
