To pay per view for the Corey Feldman documentary which is set to expose Hollywood paedophiles?

Just that. He’s bringing out his documentary for one view only I believe on pay per view. It’s about the sexual abuse both he and Corey Haim suffered as kids in Hollywood. I believe him totally and he looks so damaged and broken these days. Just feels strange getting something like this on pay per view.

I would save your money. He's already revealed names (no one famous) and Corey Haim's family have revealed the name of the man who raped him. Corey Haim's family regard CF as a grifter, and have asked him repeatedly to keep CH's name out of it.

Bezalelle · 06/03/2020 17:21

If you want to watch it, I don't see why it would be a problem to get it on pay per view.

Ellisandra · 06/03/2020 17:28

I don’t understand why you would phrase this as an AIBU Confused
You want to watch it, watch it.

Nursejackie1 · 06/03/2020 17:37

Elisandra well seeing as I associate pay per view with entertainment such as big sports games it feels strange paying for something like this. I haven’t seen an exposing documentary done in this way before.

So sorry for causing you confusion.

Babyg1995 · 06/03/2020 17:39

I'm sure I watched something vv similar few years back about the abuse .

HowlsMovingBungalow · 06/03/2020 17:41

He is a con artist. I'm not disputing his awful childhood but this is a big scam.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 06/03/2020 17:43

And you have to ask yourself why he has brought this out as pay per view?

AlanRickmanFanClub · 06/03/2020 17:46

I don't understand why you are asking on here. If we all said 'no' does that mean you won't watch it? I doubt it. It's not something I would pay to watch but if you want to, then do it.

You could watch Amy Berg's documentary An Open Secret for free.

Nursejackie1 · 06/03/2020 17:49

Alan Rick am I guess as I’ve said above it feels a bit strange seeing as it’s being done in an unusual way. I was interested in what others felt. As usual on here when asking others opinions yes it may put another angle on it.

Something I don’t understand is the question is clear in the heading so why click on it then feel the need to act like the mumsnet police?

I’m very sorry if my asking has affected your day negatively.

Feldman identified his abuser as actor and former personal assistant Cloyd Jon Grissom. He also accused child agent Marty Weiss and former talent agent and Hollywood underage club owner Alphy Hoffman of having sexually abused him.

The Berg documentary mentions DEN and Marc Collins-Rector.

Gary Goddard and Bryan Singer didn't receive an apology because they didn't file countersuits like Ancier and Neuman. Goddard was named by Anthony Edwards in 2017. Singer has had various allegations made against him.

The only interesting/salient detail from Feldman's new documentary will be if he adds weight to Dominick Brascia's allegation against Charlie Sheen - one which Corey Haim's mother refutes.

Maybe avoid AIBU if you don't want opinions on your post.

Nursejackie1 · 06/03/2020 18:08

Yougotell. Thank you. I wondered if it was being built up into exposing huge names and will turn out not to actually name any new names if any.
I was really affected by the Michael Jackson one and thought it so important for peoples stories to get out there.
Didn’t know whether this was actually going to hold people to account but your info is interesting thank you.

OP posts:
Oblomov20 · 06/03/2020 18:09

I had no idea the names had already been released.

Oblomov20 · 06/03/2020 18:11

Scam?

Christ almighty. Both of them were horrifically sexually abused. If that's there's no doubt.

That messes anyone up!

Nursejackie1 · 06/03/2020 18:11

Oh bore off howismovingbungalow.

I personally find you neither reasonable nor unreasonable OP: if Feldman ''profits'' from the documentary, I am not going to begrudge him that. Had a shitty childhood and should have received compensation for trauma in any case.
I also believe he has the right to tell his story whichever way he wants to and he is not wrong in saying that Hollywood child abuse should have had as much traction as the #metoo allegations. Whether he will be believed/vindicated is another matter entirely - same as the Finding Neverland boys. I hope he has someone looking out for him emotionally and legally.
As for the morality of paying to see something tricoteuse/vulture like/ awful topic/controversial/salacious - I paid to watch the Oscar nominated short Detainment. I wanted to make an informed decision on it (was well acted, did not add much wrt the case, was exploitative - I can see why some thought so). I have no judgement on or towards Feldman though - I feel very sorry for him.

TheyDoDoThat · 06/03/2020 18:14

And you have to ask yourself why he has brought this out as pay per view?

I think nobody would pick it up. Netflix was in talks but got cold feet.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 06/03/2020 18:20

Have to be honest when people start making these cases about money I start to get sceptical.

Not saying I don't believe him, but I'm not going to pay for the privilege of seeing that for myself. People can and do lie. As has already been discovered when the guy who had half the UK believing that he'd been raped by various members of parliament which was entirely made up.

YouGoTeIIDrDreDat · 06/03/2020 18:21

I doubt there will be any big reveal because of potential litigation. The people would have to be dead. I absolutely believe that there were like-minded predators who have exploited children whose parents/guardians were either incredibly naive or incredibly negligent. Elijah Wood, who I suspect has read the same articles as I have and who has also seen Berg's documentary, credited his mother with keeping him safe.

Oblomov20 · 06/03/2020 18:22

Do you all think that the 3 Feldman named are innocent?

I bet they are guilty as hell, even if no court could get a conviction!

Grissom now lives in Mexico and hasn't seen his USA family for over 10 years. He is a convicted paedophile who is wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for skipping an offenders’ programme.

Oblomov20 · 06/03/2020 18:24

Marty Weiss, 54, was a child talent manager in Hollywood who in 2012 was sentenced on child molestation charges.
