Moving house on the 20th March. DH asked me to get removal quotes, so I did. They're all too expensive and it's ridiculous apparently to shell out £500 on removals. He's decided that yet again we're going to get a fucking man with a van.

It's just so annoying. Why ask me to get quotes if he's going to veto anyway. And yes it's 'cheaper' but no doubt they won't take everything and oh look we now have to do most of removals ourselves.. again!! AngryAngry

Derbee you pay extra for a packing service. They literally pack everything, including the rubbish in your bin unless you tell them otherwise! They are like a team of locusts, it is fascinating watching them. And yes you can just sit and watch them, until they pack the chair!

You just need to tell them which room you will need the stuff in at the other end. They don’t usually unpack though. We used this service when DM moved and they even emptied the loft and packed everything from there. They will usually do it on the day you are moving, so you are not surrounded by boxes for weeks. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Great news that you booked it, never would I move again without a packing service it is amazing!

They’ll also wrap everything. We used a pack and remove service when we moved from our apartment to dparents for 3 months before we bought our house. All of our stuff went into storage. It was amazing.

@ineedaholidaynow that’s amazing! Although now that we’re in our new home, I have no intention of moving now for the next 10 years at least!
