To not want skinny jeans

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 14:56

Just a rant really....

Sick to death of fecking skinny jeans.

Where can I find high waist wide leg jeans?

I have hour glass shape and thick legs. Skinny jeans are awful!

Never had a pair of skinny jeans in my life

Finfintytint · 05/03/2020 15:02

Try Levi’s. Bit pricey but their range is good. I bought a straight leg pair recently.

PrayingandHoping · 05/03/2020 15:03

M&S.

inwood · 05/03/2020 15:04

Pretty much everywhere has non skinny jeans at the moment! Gap has some nice ones and next

Thymeout · 05/03/2020 15:07

M&S has a good range of jeans to suit different body-shapes. I'm a Sienna - straight legs and a high-ish waist. Different shades of denim and black and white.

EdithWeston · 05/03/2020 15:07

Damart never stopped selling bootcut and other wide leg styles

ScoopyDoo · 05/03/2020 15:10

Just bought wide leg, high waist from Levi ribcage range.

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 15:18

Thanks all. Back to M&s then! Issue I always have is trousers in general fit the arse not the waist or vice versa! 😢

I have to admit, the best jeans that I have bought recently were from M&S, and I very rarely shop there. Took a chance on a pair in the sale, and they are perfect.

strawberrylipgloss · 05/03/2020 15:30

I keep seeing people in Mum jeans so somewhere must stock them

CandiceSucksCandy · 05/03/2020 15:32

ASOS and Zara

BobbinThreadbare123 · 05/03/2020 15:35

What is the Levi's fit like? I don't want straight leg necessarily; I'm hunting for flares I guess! But not narrow at the top. Basically I want what I wore from 1999 until about 10 years ago, with a high waist.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 05/03/2020 15:35

Go to Next.

Charity shops have loads of wide leg trousers for sale as they are apparently not in fashion just now. Help the environment and save money by considering shopping there. I add dettol laundry cleanser to all my washings so whatever bargains I get and chuck in there are totally clean and fresh.

banivani · 05/03/2020 15:39

Uniqlo, the U range.

Samtsirch · 05/03/2020 15:43

Next.

cologne4711 · 05/03/2020 15:54

My legs are too muscley for skinny jeans so I get mine from Monsoon. In fact I look for Monsoon jeans off ebay and buy them that way rather than new as it's more eco-friendly.

I am happy with bootcut although it's supposed to be a massive fashion faux pas but I can't wear skinny jeans and wear them tucked into my skinny boots, yummy mummy style.

Rosiesmydog · 05/03/2020 16:03

Agree with the M&S recommendations. Their jeans are amazing and my 20 y.o niece agrees. I like the Lily slim as they are a bit slimmer than Next Slim and fit better

HotSauceCommittee · 05/03/2020 16:06

The M&S “Sophia” are the ones I’m currently wearing. High rise, straight leg. They’re not bad.

Nameisthegame · 05/03/2020 16:08

Are you my sister? Lol 😂 it is her constant battle and pockets

Stormyjupiter · 05/03/2020 16:13

I hate skinny jeans, and never had trouble finding straight or bootcut.

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 16:23

@BobbinThreadbare123 that's what I want! I used to have a high waist flare, about 4 buttons and a zip. Really used to draw the eye to my smaller waist and away from the caboose!

Tried M&S, Debenhams, John Lewis, Evans, Yours, Primark, Levis.

Next, ASOS, H&M, Gap and the like have never fitted. Tops or bottoms.

I have also been looking in charity shops, as I get a lot of clothes and baby stuff from them, and so far no luck 😢

@BobbinThreadbare123 try the Levi ribcage range. It took me a couple of goes to get the size right (needed smaller waist than usual, and long length, which I usually need, was way, waaaay to long) but once I got it right, they were great. There's a wide, straight leg, very wide at the bottom but flattering round the bum/belly.

Levis deliver pretty quickly (next day) and free exchange/returns so worth a go. I also got 10% off first order with them, and another 10% through top cashback so while pricey at £100, worked out at around £80 in the end.

Dita73 · 05/03/2020 16:28

Nothing worse than trying to put on a pair of skinny jeans when you’ve just got out of the bath. You end up doing this bizarre dance on the bloody landing trying to fit everything in!
