To not want skinny jeans

Just a rant really....

Sick to death of fecking skinny jeans.

Where can I find high waist wide leg jeans?

I have hour glass shape and thick legs. Skinny jeans are awful!

I can't find decent skinny jeans anywhere. Let me know where they are!

GiveHerHellFromUs · 05/03/2020 16:30

@beautifulbirds what size are you?

Lippy1234 · 05/03/2020 16:32

I’m an hourglass and get on really well with jeggings. They seem to fit me much better than jeans are are really comfortable.

Fruitloopcowabunga · 05/03/2020 16:34

I look terrible in skinnies. Most flattering jeans I've ever had were from Toast but they are horribly expensive and they never seem to put jeans in the sale anymore.

Stormyjupiter · 05/03/2020 16:49

I have never seen anyone in skinny jeans that looks flattering irl except for people who are very skinny and long legged. I wouldn't even consider wearing them myself.

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 16:49

@GiveHerHellFromUs I'm not sure really what size I am. 44inch arse and 34 inch waist. Big thick legs with curves. 46 inch boobs. 😕

I was only asking to gauge what shops would/wouldn't be suitable Smile have you tried Evans?

Alternatively go to Debenhams and take advantage of their Personal Shopper Experience. They might be able to help.

TheWernethWife · 05/03/2020 16:52

M & S have Mom jeans, I have a pair. I also wear their Relaxed Slim and Slim Boyfriend.

Stormyjupiter · 05/03/2020 16:55

Your size sounds like a dream for many women. You can look sexy and attractive in so many ways. Just find something that suit your shape better than skinny jeans. I truly think skinny jeans aren't for people with curves.

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 17:03

I've never been able to find anything to fit nicely. Really hate clothes shopping, it reinforces my low opinion of my body shape even more.

Argh!!

Some of the most comfy jeans I’ve ever worn are my Asda ones. Forget the name but they are the sort that move with you or something. £20 & I really didn’t want to put them in the wash! Wish I’d got at least another pair

DimplesToadfoot · 05/03/2020 17:14

I love Sainsburys for jeans, I'm apple shaped my friend is pear but we can both wear the same shape/style of their jeans as they stretch and mould to your shape, so comfy too I could sleep in them, price isn't too bad either especially if you wait for their regular 25% off promos

damnthatanxiety · 05/03/2020 17:17

OP high waisted wide jeans are literally everywhere. I have no idea why you are struggling to find any.

Madwithjealousy · 05/03/2020 17:20

New Look do mum jeans which my daughter loves :)

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 17:43

They say high rise on the label but when you put a bum in them they most definitely are not high rise! I want high waist, sitting on my waist not the top of my pelvis.

transformandriseup · 05/03/2020 17:45

Definitely Next

Lippy1234 · 05/03/2020 17:46

Maybe try going up a size. I have to do that to get tights to fit as I like to wear them really high.

Bluntness100 · 05/03/2020 17:50

You’re between a Size sixteen and eighteen op. I’d aim for an eighteen when buying.

I’d not look at wide leg jeans they will just make your legs look wider, they are difficult to wear for everyone.

A pair of relaxed jeans would work better, mom jeans would be a good shape for you as others have suggested.

mauvaisereputation · 05/03/2020 17:57

There are tons of high waist, wide leg jeans out there at the moment - they're really trendy. I got some from Weekday recently.

Stormyjupiter · 05/03/2020 18:00

High rise mum jeans are never flattering. I'd agree with people who says to go up in size, if you want to wear jeans, and adjust waist with belt.
I just think some people never look good in jeans, but they can look great in other clothes.
With very feminine shape like yours, dress with shaped waist look way better and pretty than wearing jeans.

BeautifulBirds · 05/03/2020 18:29

Thanks @stormyjupiter. I've dragged myself and 7month old all round a big city today and come home with a pair of trainers for bloke!

Nothing seems to be made with any shape. All the tops just hang off the boobs, so look pregnant or like a box. And the trousers.... Ergh.... Closest to fit was a pair in Primark 😕 mum fit jeans but they make my arse look even bigger.

Feel doomed to tatty old faded jeggings and band tshirts.

Don't even start me on bras!! 🤣

How about ordering lots of different jeans online? When my DC were very young I used to order loads from Very in different sizes and send lots of it back. Even if I kept one item I was happy with it was worth it.

Stormyjupiter · 05/03/2020 18:41

I have a friend who has real hour glass shape. She looks so great wearing dress. Even I don't fancy woman, I think she looks stunning. You have a lovely figure. Don't try to fit into the trend, but try to find something that makes you look and feel better.

Bunnylady54 · 05/03/2020 19:17

I went up a size in my Asda jeans so bought an 18 - 20.

Skysblue · 05/03/2020 22:20

It’s the shops trying to save money on fabric by using half the fabric and charging the same price for the jeans.

I currently wear jeggings two sizes too big, is ridiculous clown like waist but at least my thighs aren’t being tortured.
