DP just washed the mop in the toilet

He just mopped the floor, came into the bathroom. I had just done the kids bath and was cleaning the bathroom. He stuck the mop down the loo, then left it there. I was stood aghast. He then came back flushed the loo with the mop stood in it.

I pointed out the loo wasn't clean, I hadn't cleaned it. (He NEVER cleans the loo) He didn't see the problem. So I said, you just flushed a dirty mop in a dirty loo, the mop you have cleaned the kitchen floor with. He still didn't see the problem. I told him to soak the mop in a bleach solution.

AIBU? To wash a mop in the loo is just gross.

I've never done this, but....if you have a super clean loo, stick it in after, flush it, maybe it's not a bad shout. Clean loo tho.

I sometimes leave the mop head sitting in a solution of something like zoflora, but in general I find it best to replace them about every two or three months. months.

steff13 what do you use then? A steam mop or floor wipes? I love a mop. I have two heads and they go in the machine after each use.

Clean the sink with his flannel.

What?! Although to be fair most mops are pretty gross anyway cause you can’t really clean them properly. Tell him to get an e-cloth mop then he can put it in the washing machine afterwards instead of the toilet!
