I'm worried about being indoors with so many people, not to mention being crammed in with lots of others. DH says I ABU, but I think it's a real worry. What would you do? Would you go?

Go, and have a good time

DaphneFanshaw · 01/03/2020 16:56

I would go.

drivingtofrance · 01/03/2020 16:56

I would go.

TolpuddleFarter · 01/03/2020 16:56

I wouldn't. But that's because I'm not under the misconception that this is "just the flu".

Brettney · 01/03/2020 16:57

I would go, if you're going to be worried the whole time and not enjoy it though then maybe not. I am not minimising it as there are people for whom it would be very serious, hence the procedures in place in order to try and control it while we have even a slither of hope. But other than that I would continue on and just take sensible precautions such as washing hands often, not touching your face etc.

purplerainred · 01/03/2020 16:59

You are asking on mumsnet where many people have whipped themselves into a ridiculous state of anxiety and believe the world will end because of this virus. Of course you are bound to get replies which will say you shouldn’t go.

I’m sure if you asked people you know in real life they would all say go.

It will be cancelled if it’s deemed a risk. Just go and enjoy yourself.

MinisterForCheekyFuckery · 01/03/2020 17:00

I'm generally quite an anxious person and if wouldn't occur to me not to go.

purplerainred · 01/03/2020 17:01

Unless you are over 60+ and have a severely compromised immune system just go and take basic hygiene measures. Which I hope you would be doing anyway!

Sirzy · 01/03/2020 17:01

I would go. You can’t spend your whole life hiding from what is at this point in this country a very low risk

blue25 · 01/03/2020 17:01

Just go. There are only 35 people with this virus in the UK. People are getting hysterical.

cologne4711 · 01/03/2020 17:02

This. I'm going to a concert later in March. We'll just have to see what happens and if it goes ahead.

LtJudyHopps · 01/03/2020 17:02

There have been two cases of the virus being contracted in the UK. Go and enjoy it!

Noooblerooble · 01/03/2020 17:03

Absolutely go. I would

LynetteScavo · 01/03/2020 17:04

So I think coronavirus is beyond the pokk in t of containment. 60% of us are going to catch it. If you already have tickets you may as well go, because you could catch the virus anyway, from anyone anywhere. And it would be a lot less enjoyable than a Stereophonics concert.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 01/03/2020 17:08

I'd still go.

ManonBlackbeak · 01/03/2020 17:09

Why the hell wouldn't you go?

Iooselipssinkships · 01/03/2020 17:10

YABU. It'll be fine.

FourEyesGood · 01/03/2020 17:12

I would definitely go if it was a band I liked.

Skyejuly · 01/03/2020 17:17

I wouldn't.

SebastienCrabSauce · 01/03/2020 17:30

I went to see them last night, they were brilliant.
All this Coronavirus hype is insane, statistically you’re more likely to be fine than not. You cannot stop living your life

Figgygal · 01/03/2020 17:31

I’ll have your ticket op
It wouldn’t stop me

Zenithbear · 01/03/2020 17:35

Go. I've seen them they're brilliant.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 01/03/2020 17:40

I'd go and I'm a worrier, but as other pps said, not if you were going to feel horribly anxious and let it ruin your evening. People are still going to work and using public transport.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 01/03/2020 17:43

I’d go. I’d not cancel a gig because I feared I’d catch flu, why let an incredibly rare illness dictate?

squashyhat · 01/03/2020 17:47

I went to a gig last night with about 2500 other people and never gave it a second thought.
