Parking

Coffee234 · 25/02/2020 21:51

We have allocated parking where I live, one space per flat. Someone has parked in my space, so I have just parked behind them, blocking them in. There are clear signs which state allocated parking and I'm not blocking anyone else. I will move it if they knock, but I'm going to bed soon. AIBU?

Nope. Stay there.

AHobbyaweek · 25/02/2020 21:53

Stay there

NoveltyFunsy · 25/02/2020 21:54

Make sure if they knock on your door you have a large glass of wine in your hand...

crazycatgal · 25/02/2020 21:55

No YANBU, I've done the same when someone parked in my numbered parking space.

champagneandfromage50 · 25/02/2020 21:57

Good for you

Oldbutstillgotit · 25/02/2020 21:57

I salute you . Shame you have had a glass of wine and can’t drive .....

ivykaty44 · 25/02/2020 21:58

Will they be able to move the car if others move or jyst you? Does your parking spot number relate to your flat? How will they know where to knock?

Coffee234 · 25/02/2020 22:04

Thanks everyone, it just so annoying. Plus there are no spare spaces and I don't want to take someone else's.

Ivy, they are completely blocked in by me and yes the parking space number is the same as the flat number.

mummymayhem18 · 25/02/2020 22:05

Well done with that! Some people are so bloody cheeky aren't they.

ivykaty44 · 25/02/2020 22:09

parking space number is the same as the flat number.

Not ideal if you own a high spec car that sort after you steal... the thrived will know which property to target to obtain keys

KiddingMyself · 25/02/2020 22:14

Parking thread? No diagram? Tsk...

😂

crazycatgal · 25/02/2020 22:15

@ivykaty44 Isn't that just the same as having your car on the drive?

Coffee234 · 25/02/2020 22:16

My car is certainly not high spec Sad

SillySpaniel · 25/02/2020 22:19

Good for you OP! Someone people are CFs.

ivykaty44 · 25/02/2020 22:27

Today 22:15 crazycatgal Yes

But all the apartment blocks I visit seem to jumble up the numbers for this reason

partofthepeanutgallery · 25/02/2020 22:37

don't blame you at all.

TheWickerWoman · 25/02/2020 22:46

We could be in for the long haul tonight which suits me fine! Grin I’m not up too early tomorrow.

OP, Could you take a pic with anything identifiable blocked out.. just so we can get a feel for it?

GruciusMalfoy · 25/02/2020 22:50

Of course YANBU!

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 25/02/2020 22:50

Have you left a note on the offending vehicle, or on your own car to explain why its parked out in case you have over zealous parking wardens?

Coffee234 · 25/02/2020 23:12

Thanks all.
Sorry WickerWomen, I'm getting ready for bed, so can't be arsed to go out again, whether it is to take a photo or move my car Wink

Zigzag, it's not really on a main road, so I don't think traffic wardens will be bothered.

I have a feeling whoever it is may not need to move their car until morning. It will be interesting to see who needs to leave first.

TheWickerWoman · 25/02/2020 23:20

@coffee234 no worries, I hope they don’t wake you up. I’ll be back in the morning to see how you got on,

Convict225 · 25/02/2020 23:24

Could you stay in aaaallll day tomorrow? Just because?

StoneofDestiny · 25/02/2020 23:27

I'd leave mine there all day and take a taxi or get a lift! I'd not move my car.

TheyDoDoThat · 25/02/2020 23:34

I’d be tempted to get a lift to work or not use the car.

FickleTickle · 25/02/2020 23:38

This happened this morning in Dublin. Details sketchy but sounds like he parked in her spot:
