This has to be the most bizarre news story ever. I have cried laughing at some many parts of it. Nonsensical and just brilliant. AIBU to find it so funny?

What the fuck 😂😂😂

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 24/02/2020 07:23

Did nobody spot the tweet referring to a "divan intervention" by her husband? Grin

SoupDragon · 24/02/2020 07:24

No, it's not funny at all.

userxx · 24/02/2020 07:25

It's very odd 😬

Aridane · 24/02/2020 07:28

The first one is horrific - I guess the (odd) repeated vomiting was fear and pain rather than a conscious effort to keep the mouth moist. It’s like a nightmare domestic version of 127 hours.

Aridane · 24/02/2020 07:31

I have nightmares about my elderly and frail mother having some accident like this and not being found until her career comes in the next day, alone and in pain and unable to answer the phone or press her wrist alarm (or not wearing it...).

There have been a few falls and a couple of ‘near misses’ not wholly dissimilar to the first newspaper story though happily a career was there . I won’t describe them though as I would want to increase the hilarity quotient of this thread

dssonne · 24/02/2020 07:35

The drama of it all is funny. ' where will I keep the Christmas decorations now?' Grin

The second story about the hotel has broke me.

buckeejit · 24/02/2020 07:44

Ha! Brilliant. Love the seagull one tooGrin

userxx · 24/02/2020 07:46

🤣 shouldn't laugh but this is so true.

catpoooffender · 24/02/2020 07:51

Love the seagull story. This is my favourite news story:

'Vicious' fox traps eight people in Cambridgeshire sports club www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-33360817

PerpendicularVincent · 24/02/2020 08:04

I was Grin at the man trying to escape the fox on his bike being outrun.

MadameLeFunky · 24/02/2020 08:19

The seagull one!

*"I can still remember the look on the [cleaning] lady's face when she opened the door," he wrote.

"I had absolutely no idea what to tell her, so I just said 'I'm sorry' and I went to dinner."*

This is hilarious!

Hawkmoth · 24/02/2020 08:20

For future reference, don't just release yourself after a crush injury of more than an hour. Call an ambulance. She could have died from the toxins that built up in the crushed arm going back into her bloodstream.

Rumnraisin · 24/02/2020 08:22

It would be funny if it was a fake news piece about someone who had caught there false nail under a bed, especially with the bizarre vomiting for survival and revenge destruction of bed by husband bits but seeing as the injury to her arm was horrific I can’t find it hilarious what so ever.

Crinkle77 · 24/02/2020 08:31

I can't really see what is funny about that either.

Fifthtimelucky · 24/02/2020 11:57

Nor me. The bursting is absolutely horrific.

The seagull one, on the other hand, is hilarious.

justanouk · 24/02/2020 12:03

I think I must be missing something! I don't think it's funny at alL! It's horrifying! Poor woman might never get full use of her arm.

I don't get it either. She had to have a muscle removed from her arm FFS.

Oysterbabe · 24/02/2020 12:04

A horrible thing to happen to her but the details did make me laugh.

Bunnylady54 · 24/02/2020 12:07

Carer not career

Gingernaut · 24/02/2020 12:09

This is one of my favourites.

Too many Spaniards in Spain, says English lady in her 80s

BubblyWater · 24/02/2020 12:12

I laughed myswlf silly at the fox story until I got to the end. Poor old thing.

waterlego · 24/02/2020 12:26

I like the fox one best.

Mr Staines told the BBC he "tweaked his groin" trying to get away from the marauding animal 😆

Mammatino · 24/02/2020 12:45

At first I thought you were being a right d**k, then the language and the farcical side took over. Of course its not funny that poor lady went through that but the reporting was. The seagulls have made me laugh more than anything in a long while. Especially the inserts about the seagull that turned orange after falling in a curry vat.

3luckystars · 24/02/2020 19:19

Such an awful story, the poor woman but the writing is HILARIOUS.
