WIBU to go downstairs and make crumpets with lashings of butter and grated cheese and eat them with joy and regret?

2nd day of taking 8 steroids each morning and I am absolutely wired. And starving and craving all the foods I shouldn't eat (cheese and butter being main culprits).

My 10mo tends to get up before 6am. I don't feel like I will have slept by then.

I do feel very happy though.

Not sure if WIBU is would I be or was I being, but either hope you enjoyed or enjoy as applicable!

Hopefulhen · 21/02/2020 02:20

I just ate Swiss cheese and two different kinds of salami on a crusty fresh white bread roll with lots of Lurpak butter. No regrets. It’s Friday Grin

Dita73 · 21/02/2020 02:21

Definitely do it but don’t put cheese on crumpets, that’s just wrong!

Tini17 · 21/02/2020 02:22

Joys of steroids. The hunger is the worst! There’s nothing wrong with butter and cheese though 🤔
I’d bring them up to bed with a cuppa and a book if you’re unlikely to sleep?

Enchiladas · 21/02/2020 02:23

Oh gosh you beautiful people thank you I am going to do it I just wish I had Lurpak and salami too. Clearly I didn't need much convincing Grin

Data what else goes on crumpets?!

I love crumpets, butter and grated Mexican spicy cheese. Now I'm going to have to get some tomorrow.

Enchiladas · 21/02/2020 02:25

(Butter and cheese are only culprits because I am being tested for Crohn's and UC etc and since symptoms started cheese especially is absolutely awful on my symptoms) (but it's literally my favourite food)

This sounds divine. Have never thought of having a crumpet with cheese... Roll on breakfast time tomorrow for me! Enjoy

yorkshireteaspoonie · 21/02/2020 02:27

Don't do it! It's the steroids talking to you!! (I have no willpower against the steroids btw) which is why I'm carrying a stone of 'buttered toast' around with me 😩 something about the steroids makes food taste so much better though 😋

CMMum88 · 21/02/2020 02:29

Should be lashings of butter and honey mmmmm

SnowyRacoon · 21/02/2020 02:39

Cheesy Crumpets are the best, go for it!

7seas · 21/02/2020 02:41

I've just been down for toast and tea. Do it!

Enchiladas · 21/02/2020 02:43

Eating them now and I was wrong about the regret part I am in heaven

Monty27 · 21/02/2020 02:44

The only thing wrong is the regret for sure. Enjoy Smile

EmMcK · 21/02/2020 02:47

YABU for putting cheese on them. Just butter is needed. Then more butter.
Sorry about the possible UC or Crohn's, but take heart that dietary restrictions might not be as bad as they appear in the beginning. I have had UC for 15 years and remember being devastated at what could possibly be on the flare list

Enchiladas · 21/02/2020 02:52

Thank you lovelies (I never say lovelies, is this another side effect?). All the best foods are on the flare list right now but I'm glad to know the restrictions may not be as bad down the line. Cos I need enchiladas in my life again

If you like marmite, may I suggest marmite, buttery crumpets with melted cheese on top?

Yanbu, as we all do this when at some point when on steroids. Being able to have proper gluten-full food once in a blue moon is heaven.

lborgia · 21/02/2020 03:33

I mean we all do this in our house! Pretty sure the entire population doesn't have steroids every so often!

countrygirl99 · 21/02/2020 07:02

YABU for butter AND cheese - too greasy. Should be one or the other.

Shaminon · 21/02/2020 07:04

Crumpets with butter, marmite and cheese !!

Yabadee · 21/02/2020 07:13

Ooh I remember the steroids at start of diagnosis very well! I remember one Christmas while on 40mg of pred I ate 3 Christmas dinners. Wasn’t pretty!

Don’t get too excited about enchiladas if you do have crohns 😔 still can’t eat anything like that and I’ve been diagnosed 10 years and now have a bag. Hope you don’t have it though! Go get the crumpets with butter but lay off the cheese if it hurts u!

AlwaysCheddar · 21/02/2020 07:16

Yes to crumpets but NO to cheese!!! Eurgh!!!

Fr0g · 21/02/2020 07:17

Dita73 cheese on crumpets is amazing, especially if you grate it and leave it long enough to drip through the holes.
peanut butter is also brilliant.
peanut butter and cheese StarStarStarStarStarGrin

i'm now obsessed with the idea of having crumpets for breakfast & whether it's worth nipping out to tesco.

AbsentmindedWoman · 21/02/2020 07:21

Lashings of butter yes! Cheese on crumpets - no. Eat your cheese separately, woman!

Copious amounts of tea, recommended.
