WIBU to go downstairs and make crumpets with lashings of butter and grated cheese and eat them with joy and regret?

2nd day of taking 8 steroids each morning and I am absolutely wired. And starving and craving all the foods I shouldn't eat (cheese and butter being main culprits).

My 10mo tends to get up before 6am. I don't feel like I will have slept by then.

I do feel very happy though.

Extra mature cheddar and marmite. I’m not willing to discuss any other options.

Actually drooling! Best part is got shopping delivery yesterday and I have 18 crumpets and unopened lurpak downstairs shouting to me (we have guests coming 😆)

Butter and cheese on crumpets is the best. I’ve actually just had what might be a genius idea. Has anyone cut into the middle of them after toasting and put the cheese in (like a Kiev)? Then buttered as normal?

Never thought of cheese on crumpets! Will have to give it a go now. Crumpets with butter and golden syrup is my go-to!

I put lots of black pepper on mine. In fact I might even get out of bed and make some right now. I have some sourdough crumpets at the moment and they are delicious

Oddly enough, I just sat down for a bit of MN with my cup of tea and two hot crumpets ... covered with lashings of butter, Bovril and melted cheese. Absolutely heavenly and I don't care that I just can't shake the weight these days.

I'm 51 and have never heard of savoury toppings on crumpets!! I've always had mine with butter and jam. I'm tempted to try a cheesy one now but it feels all wrong 😂

Well thanks to this thread I ate two crumpets (sourdoughs ones and butter and cheese and black pepper) at 9am this morning after I had posted, and when it popped back up in TIO at 7pm I ate two more

It's all I've eaten today as I'm poorly though so I don't feel too guilty about it. Fuck it
