A woman who had behaved in similar ways would never even have got to be a Tory MP
That's true, but with the exception of him having a conflict of interest as the Mayor with the woman he gave a grant to, none of the rest affects politics.
So.instead of men not being allowed to be PM if they don't have squeaky clean sex lives, I would prefer it if instead, women weren't judged for theirs. And were able to be PM regardless of their sex lives and children.
Having sex, having affairs, having children, fidelity in marriage, are all matters of personal morals and none of those things are (thankfully) illegal in this country. So it seems wrong to judge anyone's fitness for public office, based on intensely personal and individual morals. As long as anyone the PM or Carrie is shagging are checked out by security, then who cares? I imagine any new friends would be checked out, so how is it different? Or could a person in an open marriage, or a single person who dates, never become PM?
