To call the hotel and let them know we are sick?

Myself and my husband, along with another couple who we are good friends with went to a hotel on Saturday night for their "valentines deal". We had a 5 course meal shortly after we arrived and hung about the hotel for drinks that evening, nothing too mad, all very civilised. We got up yesterday morning, had breakfast and went home.
One of us became very ill on the way home. I thought it was a hangover and we all laughed because none of us were actually drunk.
Last night I started to fall very ill and didn't sleep much. Then this morning all hell broke loose (I'm talking about my stomach an bowels TMI but hey can't beat around the bush). I'm lying in bed shivering yet sweating 😓
My husband rang me to ask if I'll collect him from work as he is also the same.
He rang the other couple to check on them and they're both off work today because they're sick.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking we have ate something that has caused this.
Should I ring the hotel to inform them about this? Or just power through and forget the whole thing every happened? What would you do?

Getting sent for a scan. Apparently I'm 6 weeks but could have miscarried when I assumed it was AF. Scan is this week but not sure when yet! Going back to work to keep occupied! At least I know we can conceive naturally as we have been on the waiting list to see a fertility specialist! Silver linings 💕

Fingers crossed for you x

Hope everything's ok at the scan.
Keeping busy until then will hopefully help time to pass more quickly.
Xx

PepsiLola · 25/02/2020 07:18

Good luck with the scan, this baby will need a crabby nickname for while their growing ❤️

Northernsoullover · 25/02/2020 07:27

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I can't believe you didn't phone Environmental health. Thats what they are there for. It was mentioned upthread about the fat duck. If you read the full report the restaurant tried to deal with it in house infecting numerous people prior to calling EH.

Skierrdery · 25/02/2020 09:29

Well that's a turn for the books. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Kab30 · 26/02/2020 18:08

Omg ...how lovely...fingers and toes crossed xx

cobwebfew · 26/02/2020 18:17

Bit strange to think you'd all contract norovirus at the same time, few days of each other maybe, but all at once? Sounds like it's the food, yes, I'd give them a ring. You can also notify your GP who will take a stool sample and test it for food poisoning.

PrincessSarene · 26/02/2020 18:46

Thread’s moved on a bit @cobwebfew Smile

Blondie1092 · 26/02/2020 18:56

@PrincessSarene a bit 😂😂😂

Scan tomorrow, preparing myself for the worst but also have the tiniest slither of hope 🤞🏻
Thank for all your messages. I'll keep you updated tomorrow.

I had salmonella from fish at a hotel restaurant. This is why I never eat fish unless I’ve cooked it.

Blondie1092 · 27/02/2020 21:12

Thanks everyone. So I'm 5 weeks. Very early stages. There's a fetal sac and a fetal pole, heartbeat still to be developed so I'm for another scan in 2 weeks. Very positive news however I'm so nervous now about what may happen in these two weeks. Every cramp I've had today sends me into overdrive 😬 this thread makes me laugh so much! 😂 still in total shock

Congrats!

I know the thread has moved on but I’m still curious about whether the hotel contacted you in the end

NumbersStation · 27/02/2020 21:17

Congratulations!

Waiting happily now in the hope of a little thumpity thump. 😊 Flowers

PrincessSarene · 27/02/2020 22:14

Oh that’s lovely news. Thanks for the update. Have been thinking about you today. Hope you manage to relax over the next two weeks.

seeingasyouareclueless · 27/02/2020 22:46

Congratulations! No wonder you were dizzy! Hope you're feeling much better and that you have no further sickness or health concerns in your pregnancy.
