It looks amazing! I like the name too, loads of people hate DS' but meh.

Alone07 · 15/02/2020 19:17

I see a lot of Katie Hopkins supporters are out in full force this evening.

OP the cake is beautiful, and looks delicious.

Looloobettyboo · 15/02/2020 20:13

My niece is called neaveh its prinounced neeva

Paddingtonthebear · 15/02/2020 20:19

That’s a different name / spelling though?

Darbs76 · 15/02/2020 20:24

It looks fab. I made one for my daughters 10th birthday, rainbow cake inside. Took forever but I was super proud of it.

Can’t believe people feel the need to use this post to slate a 1yr old babies name. Shame on you all. Give your heads a wobble

NewtonPulsifer · 15/02/2020 20:25

That cake is fantastic and I hope she had a brilliant birthday. Lovely friend to make a cake for a friend’s daughter, wish I had cake making friends.

sleepylittlebunnies · 15/02/2020 20:26

Some people might find using Heaven spelt backwards a ridiculous name but it sounds really pretty and I know a few of various ages. Really don’t think they will find themselves having to apologise or explain their unusual name; not to anyone I know in real life anyway.

The cake looks wonderful and just what DD10 would love for her birthday, not sure my attempt will look quite so professional.

I made the Majestic Unicorn Cake a couple of weeks ago. Assembling the layers and icing it was easy but, although the decorations weren't as difficult as I feared, it took hours to finish it.

I love that you've made eyelashes; much nicer than the closed eyes of the picture in the Unicorn Cookbook. I also made the layered Rainbow Cake and will make that again, but next time I'm going to turn it into the Unicorn Kisses Cake as the decorations are much simpler yet still look effective.

I'm also hoping to have a go at making Mystical Marshmallows and see if I can master the Colour Me Buttercream to swirl on cupcakes.

There's so many tempting recipes in this little cookbook. Happiness Pancakes should be on the menu come Shrove Tuesday, but I'm a traditionalist and like mine with fresh lemon juice and sugar so I guess I'll pass on those. Smile

Bridgetspants · 15/02/2020 21:05

So wish I had your talent, OP.

motherheroic · 15/02/2020 21:11

All this piling on a 1 year old. Pathetic.

Cremebrule · 15/02/2020 21:16

I would report this thread and ask it to be removed. If the poor parents ever see it, they’ll just have hundreds of posts slagging off their child’s name. This isn’t hypothetical musing on the baby name board. It’s a real person and family.

Love the cake btw.

DonKeyshot · 16/02/2020 00:23

Your cake looks so much better than mine did, OP, and you've been creative with the decorating - the pink ears are adorable - whereas I followed the instructions slavishly. Blush

Btw, I love the name Neveah and I'm sure she's heaven sent to her dps and all who know and love her.

differentnameforthis · 16/02/2020 03:37

Taking the piss out of a child's name, classy!!

FAB cake, well done

grandmasterstitch · 16/02/2020 05:11

Fab cake! How did you make the horn stand up? I made DS à Thomas cale last week and it had a tree on which looked rather squat by the party!

aurynne · 16/02/2020 08:14

Where I live, in New Zealand, Nevaeh and Neveah are almost as common as Olivia now. As a midwife I see what I consider utterly ridiculous names and spellings all the time, but I remind myself that these names will be the normal names in some years from now, and maybe my name will be considered old-fashioned or ridiculous by their standards.

The Neveah spelling reminds me of a couple of places named "Erewhon" right here in NZ. When I first asked and I was told it was "Nowhere" spelt backwards, and I pointed to the fact that actually it wasn't, it spelt "Nohwere", I got confused looks and "but 'Erehwon' wouldn't make sense" statements.

Unsureconfused46 · 16/02/2020 08:27

It's such a pity that this thread has turned into a slating of a child's name. The poor OP only wanted to show her beautiful cake.

MaggieAndHopey · 16/02/2020 08:53

I don't suppose it has occurred to the sneery people that literally all names were made up by someone at some point in history?

In the 11th century, someone had a kid and called it Margaret. No doubt their neighbours were going 'what sort of a name is that? Mar-gar-RET? how do you even pronounce it anyway?' 'that kid is going to have a rough time' etc.

MaggieAndHopey · 16/02/2020 08:54

Nice cake btw

HAhelp101 · 16/02/2020 10:34

I thought it was pronounced nee-vah. Didn't even realise it was heaven backwards. And it's a non issue. Anyway. Fantastic cake

Truth22 · 16/02/2020 10:35

Nice!!!

Dieu · 16/02/2020 14:28

You're a messy cook like me, OP Grin Not that I could hope to create something that good. My equivalent would look like it had been made by NEVAEH herself!
Well done OP Star

Babyg1995 · 16/02/2020 14:38

Grown women slagging off a 1 year olds name sad and pathetic life's you must lead Hmm

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 16/02/2020 15:18

Must have missed where the OP was asking for opinions on the name iced on, I mean WTF is wrong with people?
Literally showing off the cake, that's it.
Looks amazing OP, lucky birthday girl!

Gemma2019 · 16/02/2020 17:47

It's gorgeous OP. I would kill for a piece of that cake right now!

tillytoodles1 · 16/02/2020 19:03

Lovely cake (awful name though).
