Wow! Very professional.

I've never heard of that name but personally I think it sounds lovely.

RiddleyW · 15/02/2020 07:50

There’s a Nevaeh in my son’s class. She’s a lovely little girl. I did find it confusing at first because it’s not really pronounced how it’s spelt but because I’m not an idiot I soon got the hang of it. The one I know is ne-VAY-uh.

MrsAJ27 · 15/02/2020 07:54

The OP didn't ask you to comment on the name...jeez some arseholes on this thread.

The cake looks amazing and very professional!

RickOShay · 15/02/2020 07:56

That is one lovely cake. I really like the name and pronunciation of Nevaeh. I like the love that it shows.
Hope you all have a happy day.

Dividingthementalload · 15/02/2020 08:45

Little pond, I don’t get this current trend of made up names. It might seem cute to call your delicious little baby thgilrats but that poor child will have to go through school, uni/training and hopefully serious job interviews with that noise. It’s not a name, it’s a fad and says a lot about the parents for whom ‘normal’ (even unusual normal) names aren't good enough.

Genuinely feel sorry for the children lumbered with them, especially the child who is called heaven spelt backwards wrongly. That says it all!

iusedtohavechickens · 15/02/2020 08:53

Thanks for all the lovely comments about the cake! My eldest is nearly 18 so have had years of practice making cakes and I love creating them! Will post a picture of the middle when it's cut open today!
I'm going to ignore the comments about her name, I didn't choose it, but it's her name!
😁

Well all the Nevaeh parents have been triggered Grin
Beautiful cake, ridiculous name.

Frouby · 15/02/2020 08:57

Absolutely beautiful cake OP. My cousin makes cakes like that, and I know the blood, sweat and tears that goes into them. You are a very good friend to have Grin.

Bezalelle · 15/02/2020 08:57

Amazing cake! Wish I had your skills Envy

formerbabe · 15/02/2020 08:59

On these boards unless your child is called Genevieve, Ottilie, Hugo or Rupert, you are effectively the scum of the earth.

I hope the cake goes down well!

Dividingthementalload · 15/02/2020 09:01

Why is it snobbery rather than frustration at stupidity? I don’t look down on it because people who call their kids silly names are lower class/somehow beneath me. I don’t like it because any word spelt backwards isn’t a name, it’s a mistake. Stupidity is classless.

WateryFowls · 15/02/2020 09:01

Beautiful cake, talented people are amazing, I can barely butter toast. I'd love to be able to do that.

formerbabe · 15/02/2020 09:06

I don’t like it because any word spelt backwards isn’t a name, it’s a mistake

Well, don't call your own child that and no need to say anything to those who do.

All names are 'made up' just depends at which point in history.

LuckyAmy1986 · 15/02/2020 09:07

@Dividingthementalload at least she will stand out in a sea of Amelia, Evie and Olivias though. Nothing wrong with those names obviously but I love hearing unusual names, instead of the same old same old.

MaidenMotherCrone · 15/02/2020 09:10

Well done Op, that is a beautiful cake. You are very, very talented.

I hope it is appreciated. You are a lovely friend indeed. I know the expense and time that is involved.

As a side note...... god there are some awful people commenting on this thread.

indianbackground · 15/02/2020 09:12

Lovely cake, didn’t really notice the name. However if this was posted in chat/recipes/30 days it would be more likely to get praise for the cake and less name bashing.

Di11y · 15/02/2020 09:15

lovely cake, post in chat next time or blank out the name

Dividingthementalload · 15/02/2020 09:17

It’s the Bedroom boardroom debate isn’t it. depends what you want for your child but I wanted names that wouldn’t distract from their skills and experience on a CV. I have been on high level recruitment panels in a serious profession. We wouldn’t score on it (goes without saying) but we’d certainly raise an eyebrow and wonder wtf her parents were thinking. All the wrong starting points for professional conversation too:

‘Hi I’m your doctor/lawyer/accountant/heart surgeon, nivea Smith.’

‘thats an interesting name, from where does it originate?’.

‘It’s just heaven spelt backwards’.

It feels like it’s just another part of the current trend in wanting your kids to somehow stand out: with a weird name or an excellent early skill or an academic genius or sporting prodigy. What’s wrong with just letting them be normal, average? Average is good. Most of us are plain old average.

MinkowskisButterfly · 15/02/2020 09:26

Fab cake.

There are some nasty comments on here.

ssd · 15/02/2020 09:28

It's brilliant!!

Sceptre86 · 15/02/2020 09:33

Absolutely beautiful cake, you really are talented. Hope the little girl enjoys it.

TrickyD · 15/02/2020 09:36

It is not the OP’s child’s name, it is her friend’s DD’s.

I hope posters slagging off the name noticed that, as the rude comments are slightly less mean if they are not directed at the OP.

HaveAtEm · 15/02/2020 09:36

Wow! My granddaughter would LOVE that OP 🥰

(What a nasty bunch you are...there's a tiny 1-year old having a birthday ffs!! This is not an 'as-yet-unborn' baby names opinion thread! Cop on to yourselves already! Simply vile behaviour!)

grandemac · 15/02/2020 09:41

Have they asked you to make her brothers when it's his birthday? Is it kayden with a k or c?...

Please tell us the names of your kids?

grandemac · 15/02/2020 09:43

On these boards unless your child is called Genevieve, Ottilie, Hugo or Rupert, you are effectively the scum of the earth.

Exactly & heaven forbid if you have a name that honours your cultural heritage!
