What time do you wake up in the morning?

What time do you wake up in the morning and do you get enough sleep? I feel permanently shattered getting up at 6am for work no matter what time I go to bed the night before. If I get the chance to sleep in later then I always feel a million times better even if I’ve had the same amount of sleep. Hating the dark mornings!

I have this argument with DP. We don't have to be up at 6.30 most days but DP prefers to get up early.
Even if I go to bed at 9pm I am tired all day if I have to get up before 7am.

Frownette · 14/02/2020 09:04

Usually 5am

AhoyMrBeaver · 14/02/2020 09:06
  1. I get 8-9 hours sleep.
poodlepoo9999 · 14/02/2020 09:06

I sleep usually from 11.30 until 6am.

Lyricallie · 14/02/2020 09:07

Usually bed hopefully asleep by 11pm up 6:45am.

JorisBonson · 14/02/2020 09:08

5.15 🥱

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 09:09

Between 4 and 4.30. Sometimes 3.30.

confusedandemployed · 14/02/2020 09:10

Wake between 5-6, get up depending what time I need to that day. Usually asleep well before 10

CherryPavlova · 14/02/2020 09:11

I’m not a natural morning person. Usually about 9.00 at a weekend. 8:30 if working from home. Sadly about 6:00 if working in London.

Luckily my husband is a lark rather than an owl so does early morning duties - dog and tea.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 14/02/2020 09:12

Usually 6am. Fucking internal bodyclock!

BrimfulofSasha · 14/02/2020 09:12

I'm the same as poodle. 11.30 to 6am. I switch off all electrics and read for a good half an hour before i sleep though. No TV or phones in the bedroom.
I also find regular exercise helps me sleep. My brain is usually tired from work so I need to tire my body out to 'catch up'

oldfashionedtastingtea · 14/02/2020 09:13

Around 8 or 9 when I naturally wake. I don't work and DH works from home.

Hagbeth · 14/02/2020 09:14

5:15 am weekdays and 6-6:30 weekends.

Hagbeth · 14/02/2020 09:14

6-6:30 am obviously! Grin

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 14/02/2020 09:16

6:30-7:30 depending on when DS wakes (we co sleep, or should I add, he sneaks into bed with me some point during the night)

PileofToss · 14/02/2020 09:16

I usually aim to be asleep before 11pm, wake up is between 7-20am depending on if I'm washing my hair or doing the morning dog walk!

At weekends, no matter what time I go to bed, I will always wake up before 7am. No idea why, my body is a bastard.

Bluewater1 · 14/02/2020 09:17

I wake at 6:42 every single day with or without an alarm..... annoying on a Sunday!

PileofToss · 14/02/2020 09:17

Sorry that should read - between 7-7.20am!

Damntheman · 14/02/2020 09:25

I hate mornings. I'm usually asleep from 11pm to 6.45am but my fitbit will claim I slept between 6 and 6.5 hours, it's not nearly enough. I need more like 8 or 9 but can't make myself go to bed at 9pm to achieve it :( Left to my own devices (lol that's a rarity now..) I will happily sleep til 11am.

sugarbum · 14/02/2020 09:28

I think its as simple and as complicated as everyone has their own sleep functions. I am a good sleeper. I go to bed about 11pm and fall straight to sleep. I wake naturally just before my alarm goes off (about 6.30am) I can go back to sleep though, which I do at the weekend, but if I do that I feel groggy all day. I find its best if I just get up when I wake the first time.

DS2 is like me in that he goes to sleep quite quickly, and he wakes at 6.30am every day. It doesn't matter when he goes to bed, he still wakes up at this time, so if he has a late one (hardly ever) he is in a proper grump the next day

DH has appalling sleep patterns and naps all the time because he doesn't sleep through and it takes him ages to fall asleep.

DS1 also takes ages to go to sleep. He is in teenage mode, so even if we do lights out at 9.30pm, he will sleep until at least 9am unless I wake him up. Multiple times.

Rosebel · 14/02/2020 09:33

4 on a work day, closer to 9 on weekends. I always feel tired though and always wake up at least once in the night.

Floooopy · 14/02/2020 09:36

I remember either reading something or a tv show a few years ago where a study had shown that people who get up before 7am will be tired no matter how much sleep they get. Think it was also looking into schools that started later being much better for teenagers.

Always wonder about daylight saving with that though - is it the 'real' 7am or adjusted.

hula008 · 14/02/2020 09:38

My alarm goes off at 6am but I'm usually awake a few minutes before. I go to sleep around 10.30 but am in bed from around 10

hula008 · 14/02/2020 09:38

Oh and I don't really feel tired at all

Punkqueen · 14/02/2020 09:40

8am
