To want leggings which don't fall apart?

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 15:13

I just to buy legings which don't go into holes around the tops of the leg within weeks!

I've tried next, asda, Tesco and m and s and just can't find leggings which won't develop holes!

I'm a larger lady (size 16-18) but surely there must be such a thing????

Really fed up with having to keep replacing them as I wear leggings all the time for dog walking and my job (teacher, and tights under dresses just get wrecked).

Any ideas?

I've had success with H and M leggings, the ones with the thick waist band.

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 15:21

Oooh really, do they go up to a size 18?

I actually find Primark ones the best, and they're only about £3. They do go up to an 18 (possibly beyond as well) and the sizing is quite generous.

TheMustressMhor · 13/02/2020 15:22

Do you mind if I PMK as I am interested in the answers you get. I have the same problem.

RandomAmanda · 13/02/2020 15:23

Popfit leggings are brill. High waisted, proper pockets, they go from (I think) 2XS to 3XL.

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 15:32

Actually, I have some crop leggings for the summer from Primark and they haven't done the hole thing! Bluewater at half term it is then!

Will also check out popfit, thank you ladies!

@RandomAmanda leggings with pockets?! I didn’t know such a wonderful thing existed!

Crucially, are they see-through when you bend over?!

Fere · 13/02/2020 15:36

Does anyone in UK sell Pop fit leggins?

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 15:37

I've found them on Amazon @Fere

I always found the thicker ones from TU at Sainsbury’s really decent quality.
I think they’re the £10 ones and not the ones which come in a pack of 2.
I haven’t bought. any for a while though so prices may have changed. But they’re still in tact and nice and thick and don’t show your nickers through them!!

luanmapo · 13/02/2020 15:38

*knickers, sorry for the typo!

Fere · 13/02/2020 15:42

I think the are not being sold on Amazon any more

DelphicOracle · 13/02/2020 15:45

Ive had some sort of fleece lined leggings from Primark that are amazing. I think they were £5 and wash brilliantly and Ive worn them all winter with not a single sign of wear at the upper thighs. I am a 12 due to weight loss but have v chunky thighs and these are always the bits that wear thru for me. I am going back next week to buy more! Also generous sizing

SleepingIsOverrated · 13/02/2020 15:46

Another vote for the H&M thick waistband ones. They survive the tumble dryer too

Igotmylipstickon · 13/02/2020 15:50

V by very from Littlewoods - Confident Curve Leggings.

I have a few pairs of these and they are still in perfect shape after a few years. Perhaps pricer than most, but well worth it.

KathySelden · 13/02/2020 15:51

Another vote for the £10 Sainsbury’s ones

Roozy123 · 13/02/2020 15:54

H&M 100 percent. Love their leggings.
I'm a size 16 usually and where them.
Now 35 weeks pregnant and have their maturnity leggings and they're just as amazing!

averythinline · 13/02/2020 15:55

I found the Sainsbury bit short in the body recently old ones were fab
My cute fav are primary basics bug they only seem to do in black

Cremebrule · 13/02/2020 16:00

My maternity leggings were the best I’ve ever had. Super thick and lovely material. I’ve been clinging onto them but have no except they are no longer very flattering given they were cut for a bump that no longer exists. My new ones I’ve got to replace are horrid in comparison.

ohmysoul · 13/02/2020 16:02

ASOS leggings are my go to. Fine in the tumble dryer and always long enough on me!

SapphosRock · 13/02/2020 16:03

Topshop high waisted ones are good quality and so comfy.

Spanglybangles · 13/02/2020 16:05

I got some great leggings from next some time ag, I’ve also heard great things about mint velvet leggings. My current favourites are Jezebel light sueded leggings, sold in twin packs at Costco. They are high waisted, warm and really comfy. Nice and thick with a slight sheen.

riotlady · 13/02/2020 16:06

Primark “cosy” ones hold up great. Im definitely gonna check out these ones with pockets though!

Lolipoplady · 13/02/2020 16:07

Either BAM or Thought bamboo leggings are great, they last for years.

1Morewineplease · 13/02/2020 16:08

Yep... another vote for the £10 leggings from TU.
they just don’t wear out, bobble, split or become transparent.
Generous too.
