To want leggings which don't fall apart?

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 15:13

I just to buy legings which don't go into holes around the tops of the leg within weeks!

I've tried next, asda, Tesco and m and s and just can't find leggings which won't develop holes!

I'm a larger lady (size 16-18) but surely there must be such a thing????

Really fed up with having to keep replacing them as I wear leggings all the time for dog walking and my job (teacher, and tights under dresses just get wrecked).

Any ideas?

The £10 ones from Tu are fab. Thick waistband, quality material that isn't see through, don't fade and comfy.

RincewindsHat · 13/02/2020 16:20

Another vote for the Tu leggings. I am on the large side and the luxury black leggings for £10 each are generally great - long lasting and very comfy, plus the waistband is pretty thick so no rolling.

Myohmy111 · 13/02/2020 16:26

Definitely the Sainsbury’s leggings .

youareacuntychops · 13/02/2020 16:30

I wear river island (the more expensive ones as they do different ones) or bravissimo leggings. I've never had any issues with them and have had them for years.

livelyredjellybean · 13/02/2020 17:55

My husband bought me sugar pocket leggings - again have pockets in them, nice and thick and no holes yet. They’re more the “shiny” type of legging (exercise ones) rather than fabric/cotton ones tho x

RandomAmanda · 13/02/2020 18:04

@garlicandherb I'm in Ireland and I had no problem buying direct. The company is based in Washington, they took 2 or weeks to get to me. The leggings are absolutely flash-proof and the pockets are brilliant, I've been known to put my water bottle in them Grin

hula008 · 13/02/2020 18:09

I'm a size 24 and get Primark leggings - you can't wear them as trousers but I like the material

Nat6999 · 13/02/2020 18:42

Nutmeg from Morrison's leggings are the best ones I have ever had, thick waistband, they don't fall down, don't snag or go bitty. I always used to swear by TU leggings but the last few pairs I bought didn't last longer than a month.

Yellredder · 13/02/2020 19:00

I love Fat Face ones - I've found them longer lasting than supermarket ones.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 13/02/2020 19:24

I think the trick is to go one size up and wash at low temperature then stretch before drying them on a clothes horse or outside on the line.

I like Joe Browns but they seem quite small fitting. I always check the seams before buying to see if they've been well stitched especially at around the thigh and crotch areas.

DaveMinion · 13/02/2020 19:45

H&M get another vote. Their thick winter leggings are great too. And they do long leg which is getting hard to come by again for some reason (I’m cheap btw lol).

Joe browns were awful fit for me when I was an 18. I’m a size 14 now but not trying them again. Plus they were too short leg length.

LionelRitchieStoleMyNotebook · 13/02/2020 19:49

My first H&M leggings were maternity ones, now I'm a convert, I love the ones with the wide waist band I think they're about £7.99 and the thicker ones for winter are good too. I used to do Primark leggings but I've got chunkier thighs and bum post baby and they just weren't cutting it anymore

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 13/02/2020 19:56

Another vote for Sainsburys and I get the 2 for a tenner pack. They last and last and I have absolute thunder thighs.

redwinefine · 13/02/2020 20:02

Primark are amazing! They're a couple of quid and are so good. I prefer them to tights (although, I have got some Snag ones now which are a Godsend). I have 23 pairs of Primark black leggings - definitely recommend

rosesinmygarden · 13/02/2020 20:52

23 pairs??? Shock Grin

Yep Blush i just got in the habit of getting a couple of pairs every time I went - thinking I was bound to have to throw some out soon when they frayed/ wore through. Hasn't happened yet!

BelieveInPeople · 15/02/2020 20:16

Another vote for the TU ones - I just bought some today - they’re still £10 and 25% off at the moment

Waveysnail · 15/02/2020 20:17

Love m and s jeggings. I go for bigger size as then they dont rub on inner thighs and create holes

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 15/02/2020 20:18

Mint velvet do some brilliant ones online oh and much cheaper than you would expect (I think maybe £15). My sisters and i call them the Game Changer leggings because they make you look amazing.

FleetwoodMacMummy · 15/02/2020 20:19

As a plus size lady Primark hands down have the best leggings (really thick and last ages without stretching out) and £3 a pair you can't go wrong!

Advice79 · 15/02/2020 21:15

H&M definitely size L or XL.

sleepylittlebunnies · 15/02/2020 21:24

Another vote for TU Sainsburys, the soft feel ones. I also have next ones which are good. Not sure about see through bum but I never wear them with a short top, always a long tunic.

Newschapter · 15/02/2020 22:03

I buy from lucy locket loves.

Some brilliant different leggings there. Active wear for the gym and casual wear for out and about.

They've a new loungewear range as well. I've not tried them yet as I'm not tall and afraid they'd be too long.

vegvegveg · 15/02/2020 22:30

Watching with interest...

CherryPavlova · 15/02/2020 22:35

SeaSalt ones are hard wearing.
