Long time lurker, first time poster (family funeral tomorrow and been on the gin for comfort, please don't judge!) In bed now and cannot sleep so thought you lovely lot could entertain me!

So my weird crush is Noel Fielding. Don't know what it is but he is GORGEOUS.

Friends do no agree - can you enlighten me with your weird crushes!?

Yes, to PP who said David Mitchell... also Gareth Malone... and on the subject of men in makeup: Adam Lambert....

GarlicSoup · 17/02/2020 22:47

Freddie Fox as Marilyn Blush

Goldengroveunleaving · 17/02/2020 23:22

Yes, Gareth Malone, weird because he's much younger than I am and because I fancied him much more when he was geekier and fogier.
Fiona Shaw as a pp said, only weird because I'm straight (though she isn't).
I see lots of others have a thing for Robert Peston too so maybe not that weird.
Definitely weird: an actor in old black-and-white films who died in the 50s and would be well over 100 if he were alive now - can't name him because it would be outing to anyone who knows me well.Blush

MrsToothyBitch · 18/02/2020 08:25

@Goldengroveunleaving is it Robert Donat? According to my DM he was a sex symbol at the time and he was actually rather gorgeous so not odd just late to the party?

EngagedAgain · 18/02/2020 08:33

@Golden, I was just thinking of older actors and my two favourites are Omar Sharif and Clint Eastwood. Both handsome all through their lives. Clint was at his best from his 40's onwards me thinks.

MrsToothyBitch · 18/02/2020 08:38

@EngagedAgain I used to have a bit of a thing for Peter O'Toole, even older, ravaged POT was better looking than some will ever be in a life time. Omar Sharif was gorgeous, too.

Tyrone Power was also lovely but looks a bit too like my Grandad did for me to fancy him. Sorry Tyrone.

EngagedAgain · 18/02/2020 08:59

@MrsToothyBitch, yes POT had a great screen presence. He was tall, not as tall as Clint who is about 6' 4" I believe. I quite like John Mills but I don't think he's very tall. Just off to check (saddo!) Your grandad must have been very handsome.

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 18/02/2020 09:04

Love Noel!

Cantaloupeisland · 18/02/2020 09:07

The guy who plays Kylo Ren in the latest Star Wars films. I'd go over to the dark side for him Grin

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 18/02/2020 09:08

Whaaaaaat's with all the Mick Hucknall love??? 🤣🤣🤣

Your weird celeb crushes?
Trudij123 · 18/02/2020 09:11

Older actors ( and one sadly no longer with us) Oliver Reed was properly hot and still very much alive Charles Dance...

But I wouldn’t call either of them weird crushes to have.

Trudij123 · 18/02/2020 09:47

Possibly Stockholm syndrome, but Justin Fletcher is growing on me...

chellochello · 18/02/2020 09:49

Not sure if it's weird but I love Joel Dommett

Also love a bit of Noel Fielding and his Mighty Boosh partner Julian Barratt

MrsToothyBitch · 18/02/2020 09:50

@EngagedAgain he looked very handsome in his naval uniform, for sure! John Mills I first saw as Old Gus in Cats so that's kind of my abiding image of him!

I find it rather fascinating to look at pin-ups through the ages and see how tastes have changed.

Scoose · 18/02/2020 09:55

Greg Davies and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

IntermittentParps · 18/02/2020 11:06

Ring, Sam Rockwell definitely has something about him.

Aprilsinparis · 18/02/2020 13:25

MotherOfAllNameChanges That is so funny, you couldn't have found a better picture of MH😂😂😂😂😂

Ameanstreakamilewide · 18/02/2020 13:28

Jurgen Klopp.

The sexiest man ever!

Goldengroveunleaving · 18/02/2020 13:46

@MrsToothyBitch (love your username): Shock Actually ... yes. Only weird because it's very, very odd to fancy someone who died before you were born. When I was very young - having discovered this crush at the tender age of 18! - I remember feeling genuinely sorrowful at the idea that he was so completely beyond my reach. Blush

EngagedAgain · 18/02/2020 14:28

@MrsToothyBitch, yes agree with pp, I too thought that is a great username. I found out John Mills was 5' 8" so not that tall. Yes think I rem him as Gus. Was that the old tatty cat?

@MotherOfAllName Changes, I am a Mick Hucknall fan. When I see those sort of photo's I simply ignore ignore ignore 😁😁. C'mon we all have bad photo's.

MrsToothyBitch · 18/02/2020 17:56

@EngagedAgain yes- tatty old Gus. He was blind by then, too.

@Goldengroveunleaving I don't know you, I promise but I knew as soon as I read it that it would be RD, my DM always makes a point of saying he died young. I think part of it too is that he looks to be so obviously from another age and is comparatively unknown now. If it was James Dean, in Levis smoking a cig I think some of the "otherness" would be less.

bornonasunday · 18/02/2020 18:17

Chellochello

I’ve met Joel Dommett... he’s lovely, (and he autographed a paper napkin for my son) Rather handsome irl, even if he’s waaaay too young for me!
Lovely teeth, too!

PooWillyBumBum · 18/02/2020 18:21

Phil Spencer from Location Location Location.

LakieLady · 18/02/2020 18:32

*@Zurina David Bowie was my first celebrity crush at 9 years old!

I too loved him from very young. But he was born a year before my grandma*

Gawd, that makes me feel so old! I saw him live when I was 13, so late '68 or early '69.

LakieLady · 18/02/2020 18:58

Well, no-one else has mentioned him, so he must be all mine: Jon Sopel (BBC Washington correspondent).

He always looks like he's struggling not to burst out laughing when reporting Trump's idiocies, and I bet he'd be great fun in the sack.
