CF parking

Blocked in at school pick up

Diagram attached

Red boxes are other cars, blue box is CF.

Parked in car park spaces at the bottom. Been stuck for an hour and next lot of school traffic is arriving for the 3pm pick up. Reported on non emergency police number, they're unable to help at the minute but will get someone out when they can. Reported to school reception but theyve no way of knowing who it is, can only confirm it isnt a teacher. Other parents have sent photos to local councillor and put on social media. No one noticed who parked there. The residents dont recognise the car as a neighbour or visitor and are also blocked in and raging... there is normally a good relationship between the residents and the school traffic, they only ask we use the parking spaces at the bottom and don't park outside their houses which has always been respected. The resident who is parked opposite CF is not at home to move their car and neighbour hasnt been able to contact them either. One resident has a doctors appointment and cant get out to it but think a relative is coming to pick them up if they dander out to the main road (but shouldnt have to!) Should add, theres nothing else about here, just the school and some houses. No shops, cafes etc. So they can only be at the school, in which case they know the parking deal with the residents (is written on every school newslettet). And also they have eyes in their head to see that theyve blocked the narrow road, and know there's only room for one lane of traffic. If they were running late on the 2pm pick up and parked in a panic, surely theyd be legging it back to get out of peoples way??

Traffic is now going nuts because the blockage is causing a build up of the 3pm pick up parents who are trying to get down to the car park bit.

We're all a bit stuck about what to do now?

Kerbs around the glass are too high to drive car over to get out without ripping out your engine

Is it still there OP?

LannieDuck · 12/02/2020 15:25

I think non-emergency police is your best option but obv they might not be the fastest :/

MinnieMouseMaze · 12/02/2020 15:27

Beyond belief they wouldn't realise when they park. Some people are just so selfish.

BaolFan · 12/02/2020 15:35

People are selfish arseholes.

I imagine the local FB groups are going batshit right now!

moonlight1705 · 12/02/2020 15:38

All you need is four strong people from the frustrated parents and tip the car over on its side onto the grass. not sure how legal that would be

victoriashleigh · 12/02/2020 15:48

Imagine being the person who has to sheepishly walk to that car, knowing everyone is watching them and judging them. Grin

Ayemama · 12/02/2020 15:57

Even if they were running late theres no excuse for parking there.

I like the tipping it on the grass idea.

Funnyface1 · 12/02/2020 16:17

Are some people oblivious enough to park there and not notice they would be blocking the entire road?

I hope so I guess, otherwise they are just that selfish and that's probably worse.

Purpleartichoke · 12/02/2020 16:23

Does the school not have a P.A. system? At our school, when someone parks blocking the traffic flow in any way, they come over the PA system, describe the car, and tell the parent to move it immediately.

Jaxhog · 12/02/2020 16:24

It'll be a well-deserved walk of shame. I hope the police come soon and tow them away.

Jaxhog · 12/02/2020 16:28

PS. I was once stuck in the middle of traffic on a gridlocked road due to CF parking like this outside a school. It took the police 2 hours to arrive and untangle the mess. We didn't have a high curb, but CF drivers had parked their Rangerovers, etc. on the verge on both sides. Because no-one would give way, traffic built up in both directions causing a gridlock.

Your road could get interesting! I'd call the police again.

I can't. I have done some twatty things but never anything that twatty. To be that twatty you must be so spectacularly unaware that the walk of shame won't affect you.

Confuddledtown · 12/02/2020 16:32

Finally home, only took 2 hours with a very bored 5yo and 2yo in back seat. Police arrived and towed just as the lady came back, icing on the cake being that it was also untaxed and they carried on towing it even though she returned

Totally following for the drama but hope you all manage to get out!

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/02/2020 16:34

Oh cross post! But yay on all counts

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 12/02/2020 16:34

Haha

PennyGold · 12/02/2020 16:35

Was she mortified/ apologetic?!

Karma. 🤣
Good job the police arrived otherwise she would've been lynched.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 12/02/2020 16:38

Brilliant. What a selfish bastard she is. Did you/anyone recognise her?

Hope she has to pay a fortune to get the car back.

Oh that’s brilliant! 😂 Just think, if she hadn’t been such a selfish fucker, she probably would have got away with her untaxed car. Please tell us her reaction. 🙇‍♀️ 🙏

Thedeadwood · 12/02/2020 16:47

Oh that's actually quite a satisfying result. Selfish git.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 12/02/2020 16:49

I like a happy ending, I do... 😁

Whynosnowyet · 12/02/2020 16:52

Warwickshire have a great scheme. Upload pics of illegally parked cars at schools and they get automatic fine in the post!

BentBastard · 12/02/2020 16:56

Sounds like the right result in this case but in such a situation with two cars like that, how can you know which car was parked there first as you say no one saw them park? Imagine a scenario where blue car was already there and then red car parked blocking the road and blue owner came back to being towed and everyone cross with them.
