Blocked in at school pick up

Diagram attached

Red boxes are other cars, blue box is CF.

Parked in car park spaces at the bottom. Been stuck for an hour and next lot of school traffic is arriving for the 3pm pick up. Reported on non emergency police number, they're unable to help at the minute but will get someone out when they can. Reported to school reception but theyve no way of knowing who it is, can only confirm it isnt a teacher. Other parents have sent photos to local councillor and put on social media. No one noticed who parked there. The residents dont recognise the car as a neighbour or visitor and are also blocked in and raging... there is normally a good relationship between the residents and the school traffic, they only ask we use the parking spaces at the bottom and don't park outside their houses which has always been respected. The resident who is parked opposite CF is not at home to move their car and neighbour hasnt been able to contact them either. One resident has a doctors appointment and cant get out to it but think a relative is coming to pick them up if they dander out to the main road (but shouldnt have to!) Should add, theres nothing else about here, just the school and some houses. No shops, cafes etc. So they can only be at the school, in which case they know the parking deal with the residents (is written on every school newslettet). And also they have eyes in their head to see that theyve blocked the narrow road, and know there's only room for one lane of traffic. If they were running late on the 2pm pick up and parked in a panic, surely theyd be legging it back to get out of peoples way??

Traffic is now going nuts because the blockage is causing a build up of the 3pm pick up parents who are trying to get down to the car park bit.

We're all a bit stuck about what to do now?

I hope she had the grace to be mortified. Was it a school mum?

Okbutno · 12/02/2020 17:05

Wtf?! Did she have the decency to look embarrassed? Had she been in the school or a house nearby?

SmotsMots · 12/02/2020 17:14

Towed while she watched. Brilliant.

Bloody love a parking thread - and one with a happy ending gets multiple MN points

JustOneSquareofDarkChocolate · 12/02/2020 17:19

most satisfying end to a CF parking thread ever!

Gingefringe · 12/02/2020 17:20

Impressed by your pic as well, I must say.

DNR · 12/02/2020 17:20

Brilliant!

Ouchaheadinmybehind · 12/02/2020 17:39

icing on the cake being that it was also untaxed

Grin Was she at least suitably shame faced for blocking you all in?
Microwavedtea · 12/02/2020 17:43

Any idea why she parked there or if she seemed embarrassed at all?

damnthatanxiety · 12/02/2020 17:56

OP, who was she? A school mum? Someone visiting a neighbour?

Confuddledtown · 12/02/2020 18:41

I didnt recognise her but she appeared with a school child and he looked older than p2 age so he wouldn't have finished at 2 when she parked up. It's a big school so I wouldn't remember even half the parents by sight anyway.

I didnt hear what she was saying as I was in the car but there was lots of hand gesturing on her part and then stomping about making a phone call. Who knows. I was just glad to get home.

Thank you for updating, so often people don't! And well done for the diagram, I almost felt I was there!
