I want to stop watching the tiny pool of slebs with their spin.

Is that even possible or are all they all on everything?

SnorkMaiden81 · 09/02/2020 19:03

Eh? What on earth are you on about?

BentNeckLady · 09/02/2020 19:03

Stop watching them then? We dot watch celeb anything, it isn’t hard to avoid.

Apolloanddaphne · 09/02/2020 19:04

Stop watching then? If I am honest I don't actually know what you are talking about. I never see any celebs doing anything.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 09/02/2020 19:04

Depends..

Not enough info

Which slebs? What spin? Why can't you avoid it?

Is this another Schofield thread in disguise?

DanielRicciardosSmile · 09/02/2020 19:07

Are who all on everything? I don't know who or what you mean.

happinessischocolate · 09/02/2020 19:08

If you mean Holly and Phil, and Ant and Dec presenting everything I totally agree, I refuse to watch anything they're on.

The weird thing is most of the programmes ie dancing in ice or BGT people don't turn in because if the presenters they watch because of the show concept, so why use these overpaid celebs

CoffeeCoinneseur · 09/02/2020 19:18

YANBU.

I'm bored to tears of Ant n Dec, Phil n Holly, Piers n Suzanna, Rochelle n Mr Rochelle (not even interesting enough for me to remember his name), Ruth n Eammon, etc.

Apart from all the sleaze that's come out about PS it's shone a light on just how incestuous ITV is, nepotism is rife.

They need to totally refresh the talent pool and give some new faces a chance.

I barely watch ITV these days, it's all the same old same old.

OhioOhioOhio · 09/02/2020 19:25

happiness

Yes. That's it. I like that easy kind of entertainment. But do their lot also manage to corrie lot?

It's not that I don't like the programmes. But I feel a bit sickened by it all.

Not supposed to be another one of those threads in disguise. I genuinely dont know how to avoid those programmes. That's the kind of tele I prefer. But I think time for new slebs.

OhioOhioOhio · 09/02/2020 19:26

So is it all of itv, everything?

OP posts:
Gemzee · 09/02/2020 19:29

What on earth are you talking about!?

WorraLiberty · 09/02/2020 19:34

I genuinely dont know how to avoid those programmes.

Errrr seriously?

Apolloanddaphne · 09/02/2020 19:38

I don't watch any of those programmes and see none of these people yet I watch loads of tv. Easily avoidable.

user1471517900 · 09/02/2020 19:41

I feel for the OP. I make liver and onions for my dinner every night. I wish I could eat something else but I have no idea how to solve this.

AgeLikeWine · 09/02/2020 19:45

Watch BBC4.

Problem solved.

Formermousemat · 09/02/2020 19:54

I'm sick of celebrities and TV in general. It's mostly pretty poor these days. I see the odd good documentary but that's pretty much it.

I mostly watch YouTube now. I watch people cooking, lifestyle stuff, sometimes history stuff. All mostly made by amateurs so it feels much more relatable and useful.

CountFosco · 09/02/2020 19:54

I never watch ITV, I don't even know who some of those people are. Have you tried BBC1. It's this little known channel that you might like. Strictly Come Dancing has abit of a cult following Wink

Silvercatowner · 09/02/2020 19:54

I know Philip from his cuboard days (haha) but wouldn't recognise this Holly person if she bit me on the nose. Honestly OP, just don't watch. It's purile.

OhioOhioOhio · 09/02/2020 19:54

Well thanks for your help.

Obviously you've taken me entirely literally.

OP posts:
FredaFox · 09/02/2020 19:56

Can you get the title editted, it makes no sense Hmm

Elphame · 09/02/2020 19:59

This is why I gave up watching TV many years ago. The sleb culture was bad enough then.

There is life without TV and I know I'm not contributing to their ridiculous salaries Grin

OhioOhioOhio · 09/02/2020 20:01

Yeah. I don't have the TV on most evenings.

OP posts:
malificent7 · 09/02/2020 20:04

I get you op....i had to stop reading Grazia due to the endless articles about vapid slebs who i either don't know and/ or who i don't give two fucks about.

Bananabixfloof · 09/02/2020 20:13

I quit watching TV quite a while ago.
I remember yet another sleb doing yet another travel show and just thinking for gods sake is there no one else. May have been Chris Tarrant who at the time was all over TV.
Then it dawned on me that actually theres nowt on for me.

I looked closer and found it's all men on TV, hardly any women, it's all male directors etc. No wonder theres not much for me.
Even movies, all men with a female character who just eye candy. Sigh.

OhioOhioOhio · 09/02/2020 20:33

Thanks.

Yeah to the pp who said about liver and onions.

Thing is I like liver and onions for my tea. But I've gone right off the cocky attitude of the people in the liver and bacon shop.

Where can I get decent liver and bacon that's not served by egotistical plonkers?

I wasnt really able to cope with TV or newspapers for the last 2 years and I stopped reading magazines long before that.

The radio is a bit of a refuge tbh, certainlythats my news source now. I have to pick and choose my books a bit but that's getting better too. I like a good page turner much more than tv.
