  1. Toasts ALL of the bread, both sides?
  2. Doesn't break in a matter of weeks?
  3. Doesn't cost the earth?
  4. Fits 4 normal sized slices of bread?

Hit me with your suggestions, please! I've looked at online reviews but they mainly seem to focus on how well it matches the bloody kettle or the kitchen curtains!

I’ve got a kitchenaid toaster, in pistachio
I needed it to match my kitchen

BikeRunSki · 09/02/2020 09:48

I bought a Dualit about 18 months ago purely because it toasts the entire slice and toasts evenly on both sides.

TwoHeadedYellowBelliedHoleDig · 09/02/2020 09:48

Ineant all of that and one that takes 6-8 slices too.

LettyFisher · 09/02/2020 09:49

Oh I love that blender @NotYourHolidayDick - I have the red kitchenaid mixer already.....

Dualit.

We've had one for years, and you can/could get repaired by the person who built it.

Amazingly I saw one dumped on a nature strip here in Melbourne, and lovingly restored it in about two hours. Smile

Agree my toaster was guilty of all those things and then had the cheek to actually blow up the other morning - the bang made me jump from the other side of the house and tripped all the electric. Bought a new one that seems to cremate everything on one side even on setting 2, setting 1 is just warm bread

We got 2 toasters for our wedding- 17 years ago.
The Dualit one is still plugged into the same plug in the same place and the second has never come out of it's box (think I gave it away?....that red-haired beardy cook guy was on the box).

Anyway, the Dualit....has 3 slots, one of which fits a cage to make lovely toasty sandwiches.
Lovely toast day in, day out.

My sister has probably had ...? 5 different toasters in the same time.

Ridiculous price at the time, but cost-per-toast? buttons.

NotMeNoNo · 09/02/2020 12:34

You can get catering toasters from Nisbets including all the original style Dualit a bit cheaper. We use the sandwich cages a lot for buns, crumpets etc.

I paid a bit extra and got a Dulait about 4 years ago: best thing I’ve ever bought!!!

Royalbloo · 01/02/2021 16:42

I love my smeg toaster

Jubaju · 01/02/2021 18:09

I’ve had my dualit for 16 years, still works amazingly well.

hansgrueber · 01/02/2021 18:30

After finding that Russell Hobbs' products last 12.5 months generally we bought a toaster and kettle from Sainsburys, own brand, still going strong 10 years on.
