DD has her birthday today. 3 friends are arriving in an hour. They are 'sleeping' over.

I doubt there will be much sleeping.

Help.

When it gets to 11pm tell them you are going to bed and if you hear anything else they will have to sleep separately. (Also point out they can watch XXX movie but if you catch them watching anything else parents will be called. 😂) Hopefully all will be quiet until about 6am.....

Oh god mine are at the pillow fight stage already ShockConfused. Tubs of Ben & Jerry's have clearly kicked in and no, 14 year olds aren't grown up

grafittiartist · 08/02/2020 20:26

Sorry wake over- no can do!!

grafittiartist · 08/02/2020 20:27

Houseyhousey Fancy running away together with a bottle of plonk? The ones in my end were just caught hoovering each other.

Ah. They had accidentally rolled in kinetic sand. Of course, that explains it all...

Can I join? I have 8 kids for a 7th birthday here. Have just sent dp up to shush them! Had them since 3pm and counting the hours until pick up at 10am tomorrow!

They are a nice bunch really (and we've been doing Harry Potter activities, which has gone better than I thought) but they are very loud!

grafittiartist · 08/02/2020 21:27

Welcome Stompy!
It's noisy here too. I'm sooo tired though. I bet I can sleep through it!!

Wakeover · 08/02/2020 21:28

Stompythedinosaur you are now our leader. Eight of them?!

grafittiartist I feel like I won't sleep... mine just had cake. I can smell the sugar and regret in the air.

I was just contemplating letting dd have a couple of friends over after trampoline park on her birthday. This is not inspiring me....

Wakeover · 08/02/2020 21:37

Muddlingalongalone that sounds sensible - wear them out first!

In all honesty, there have been no tears, sulks or fallouts yet. Just lots of noise and giggling!

A friend swore by putting classical music on to get them to sleep

Frownette · 08/02/2020 21:42

It would rattle my bones having all that going on!

They'll be asleep before you are though.

grafittiartist · 08/02/2020 21:45

It's v early, but I'm sooo tired ( and have had a large glass of wine) so I'm going to try for sleep.
Good luck all! Hope you all get some sleep at some point!

Wakeover · 08/02/2020 22:13

They've settled down for a film... progress! Grin

Although we have just had a power cut. Cue lots of shrieking until the lights came back on.

You can't make @Stompythedinosaur the leader. She has no idea. You don't have a) that many 7 year olds, b) invite them before 6pm at that age for a sleep over!!! She is obviously absolutely crazy. Good luck stompy - you will need it!! 😁😄 And finally pick up is 9am.....they will have been up for hours. You will need it that early. Good luck with the wind tonight too.

Houseyhousey · 08/02/2020 22:38

I'm going to bed - told them they can stay up all night if they really wanted but wake me & I'll kill them and they have to be normal functioning humans tomorrow not angry & tired monsters. I'm optimistic about the first, less so on the second based on past experience!

Stompythedinosaur · 08/02/2020 22:42

In my defence I know the dc fairly well. I had to have them early because it was a Harry Potter party and I had planned to do a number of lessons! Admittedly this was because I spent too long on Pinterest.

The dc are asleep now, I'm in my pjs in front of the TV.

I tend to find the morning the toughest bit. I'm hoping to engage the dc in repeating some to the potions stuff from today or maybe put on another film if they are tired.

Hope everyone else has a peaceful house now too!

Wakeover · 08/02/2020 23:14

I'm going to bed. I've left The Gatekeeper (DH) on duty. The girls are in PJs and sitting still but that's as close to sleep as they'll get for now!
