Mines is more he is a culprit of my pet hate of noisy chewers.

He also always eats his cereal with a tiny teaspoon and it’s just not right to me at all,

Do your dp’s have frustrating traits? AIBU to ask you to share?

Wanting to listen to music at full volume while singing along loudly after he's had a few pints.

Like he is right now. Angry

hellololabells2019 · 07/02/2020 20:12

15 minutes in the toilet each morning whilst I'm getting ready for work and 3 kids ready for school

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 07/02/2020 20:13

Sneezing loudly and without warning.
Putting dirty stuff in a dishwasher full of clean plates.
Apart from that, he's lovely

Hairwizard · 07/02/2020 20:14

Everytime we have to leave the house he chooses that moment to go do something else, like hoover the car, make up a protein shake etc. No concept of time at all.
Whenever he gets a clean dishcloth out from drawer for doing dishes he leaves the dirty one at sink. Then puts the clean one beside it!! Wtf?? Makes me want to gauge my eyes out everytime i see it.

LakieLady · 07/02/2020 20:17

His complete inability to clear up after himself.

Elouera · 07/02/2020 20:19

-If he wipes over the top of the hop, he uses a mildly abrasive sponge, but instead of leaving it on the side, I find it inside the washing up bowl with the dishes- why add more germs in the bowl for no reason?

  • If he washes glasses etc, he doesn't rinse the suds off with clean water (they dont just disappear but just dry on there, and more than once I've had a glass of sudsy water to drink Angry)
  • He feels the need to throw his worn underpants at my head everyday! I must have 360 vision, as I always manage to catch them with lighting reflexes everytime before the hit my face Grin
Mintjulia · 07/02/2020 20:19

He refuses to put lids back on things properly.

And insists on cutlery & crockery being arranged in the dishwasher in exact order or he has to take it out and start all over again.

But then he is an ex Grin

Elouera · 07/02/2020 20:20

I forgot- if I'm getting ready doing my make-up for work, that is the time he needs the toilet (only 1 bathroom!) to do a poo!!!

OhNoMyCheds · 07/02/2020 20:21

Mumbling.

Lanurk · 07/02/2020 20:29

Dp’s most annoying trait is his tidiness. He likes everything to be spotless and in its place. We have kids so obviously this doesn’t work out as he wants pretty much all the time so he spends 30 minutes after the kids are in bed straightening stuff up

calmama · 07/02/2020 20:32

He feels the need to throw his worn underpants at my head everyday!

Just... why?!

MyHairNeedsASnip · 07/02/2020 20:33

He scratches and strokes his beard constantly. It irritates the shit out of me.

vincettenoir · 07/02/2020 20:37

Spending a whole tv show asking who all the actors are and what they have been in before. Then pausing the credits for ages to check their names. 🤦🏻‍♀️

zucchinieggplant · 07/02/2020 20:43

His inability to flatten cardboard boxes; honestly we'd have far more space if he'd just flatten them instead of slightly squashing them. He has no idea how close to death he is each bin day as I seethe.
He also had a v irritating tick but I know he can't help it (and it gets worse when he's stressed) so I bite my tongue on that one.

stargirl1701 · 07/02/2020 20:43

Snoring.

Isithometimeyet0987 · 07/02/2020 20:49

Random gadgets!! Their everywhere in our house, I don’t know how there’s any gadgets left on amazon that he hasn’t bought. Like who needs a pen with a screwdriver inside?! Or beer cooling sticks?! Or a special knife for cutting and peeling kiwis?! That’s just to make a few! (Have to admit some are handy like the tire pressure reader)

Isithometimeyet0987 · 07/02/2020 20:49

Tyre not tire

AufderAutobahn · 07/02/2020 20:53

Among the minor annoyances regarding 'D'H is his habit of constantly switching songs when listening to music in the car. 20 seconds of one song and I start to enjoy the tune, then he'll skip to another. Never listens to an entire song. I take headphones on all car journeys when he's driving. It means he can't talk to me but I don't care tbh.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 07/02/2020 20:54

He is a glass half empty person.

Bluewater1 · 07/02/2020 20:56

Snoring

EssentialHummus · 07/02/2020 20:59

An actual obsession with bins and their inconvenience. Where are our bins, why are there bins on the road, why are the bins still out after bin day... just a lot of unnecessary bin-related discussion really.

FairfaxAikman · 07/02/2020 21:02

He talks very loudly on the phone - basically the volume you'd use if you were talking to someone standing next to you in a busy pub.
He's on the phone to BIL and has already woken DS once.

Lovingmylife · 07/02/2020 21:05

He repeats only part of what he has said if I say pardon because I haven't heard him e.g.

DH: blah blah blah blah
Me: sorry I didn't hear you
DH: the car
Me: what about the car
DH: the garage
Me: what?
DH: we need to call the garage to book the car in for an MOT
Me: then why didn't you say that.

honeylulu · 07/02/2020 21:09

Screams when he sneezes. Sometimes I almost piss myself in fright if I've not expected it. I have complained. He says normal sneezes "aren't as satisfying".

Comes home from work and shovels and crunches loads of nuts/bombay mix. Can't bear the noise. If I leave the room he follows me around the house, shovelling and crunching.

I am probably more annoying though.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 07/02/2020 21:17

Sneezing in the sunlight but refuses to wear sunglasses and never covers his mouth or nose, its worse when he borrows my car and sneezes whilst driving as it goes over my windscreen, proper makes me want to stab him numerous times
