I’ve always wondered why his career was so badly damaged by what happened at his house.

It was awful that a man died, but he was never found guilty and it was never proved that he was in any way involved - as far as I remember.

He was so popular before and had a really strong career. AIBU to wonder why people turned against him so quickly?

I don’t mean this to be a goady thread, just generally wondering why he was the ‘only’ fall guy for what happened.

that youtube clip is disturbing, hes looking up her skirt at at one point, then kisses her at the end. Confused

Ofthread · 07/02/2020 10:06

There had to be at least two people out of the three to do it. Likely he was restrained by the neck or held in a headlock while he was raped.

ExcessiveAdmin · 07/02/2020 10:08

Also how likely is it that Stuart Lubbock was completely silent during the attack. Was everyone there deaf as well as blind?

@ChazsBrilliantAttitude, well quite. Dodgy AF.

Apirateslifeforme · 07/02/2020 10:09

He disappeared from his own home when a body was found. Seems strange.

MissusAverage · 07/02/2020 10:10

How noisy he was, depends on whether or not he’d been heavily drugged beforehand, I suppose. Sad

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 07/02/2020 10:14

If he had been heavily drugged I doubt such a strong headlock would have been needed.

ExcessiveAdmin · 07/02/2020 10:14

@labazsisgoingmad, complied with the police my arse. He obfuscated, made up wildly implausible scenarios and was more bothered about getting back on tv then he was over the murder of Stuart in his house.
He seemed to think the murder was just an inconvenience compared to the more important issue of his career.
Disgusting attitude.

MissusAverage · 07/02/2020 10:16

True enough

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/02/2020 10:17

I honestly think that everyone there was involved to some extent.
That's the only reason why no one has talked.
Otherwise the police would have been able to get a clear picture if who was with who , where and when.
Why on earth would you keep quiet unless you were implicated in some way?

labazsisgoingmad · 07/02/2020 10:18

thank you Excessive i was quoting facts from a paper this morning i understand there was a tv programme on last night but we dont have a tv that is the other side of the coin isnt it at the end of the day no one in tv will touch him with a barge pole he knew what he hosting doubt it was a one off either

ExcessiveAdmin · 07/02/2020 10:25

@labazsisgoingmad, that’s a good point. I doubt it was a one off either. There must be other people out there with experience of Barrymore’s ‘parties’.
Personally I was surprised he was even accepted onto dancing on ice.

longwayoff · 07/02/2020 10:32

'His agent told him to leave'? Oh, please.

WheresMyChocolate · 07/02/2020 10:40

I think Barrymore did this. I watched him on Celebrity Big Brother. He's as creepy as fuck. Jimmy Saville level creepy. Horrible man.

10FrozenFingers · 07/02/2020 10:42

@MissusAverage

If it was a rectal thermometer, who uses a rectal thermometer to revive someone? No one.

If you'd bothered to read the other comments you would have seen someone explain it was suggested by MS's barrister.

'His agent told him to leave'? Oh, please and your point is?

Ofthread · 07/02/2020 10:52

Are you an expert Chaz? That is what the pathologists have come up with.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/02/2020 10:53

I suspect that Barrymore's apparent "no filter" is part of a carefully contrived persona and if he was implicated in, or was guilty of, a serious crime that "filter" would become a steel trap that would lock down anything he didn't want to reveal

This ^^

There's a chance others may "remember details" if the money dries up, but even then they'll be careful about incriminating themselves
Either way, if there's ever any suggestion of a trial, MB will certainly try to get himself declared as unfit - no doubt using his (carefully crafted) manic behaviour as "proof"

CathyorClaire · 07/02/2020 10:59

I didn't realise he was booked for Dancing On Ice but it's not the first time he's tried to revive his career through reality TV. He was on Celeb BB in 2006 where he came second. He clearly still had an extensive fanbase at that point.

thecatsthecats · 07/02/2020 11:11

He was on Celeb BB in 2006 where he came second. He clearly still had an extensive fanbase at that point.

But not so much any more, I suppose. He'll have fallen out of the circles of the powerful. In an interview like Piers Morgan's, they strike a cynical line of taking the quid pro quo of sensitively handling a celeb for the ratings of an exclusive.

I am not a light entertainment fan, but there's a whole two generations of fans of that kind of show who've now grown up or grown out of MB, who have no loyalty to lose.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 07/02/2020 11:14

Ive always disliked him....even as a kid I couldnt watch Strike It Lucky....vile man... I hope karma gets him.

AmelieTaylor · 07/02/2020 11:15

'It's all quite horrible. I wonder if a couple of other people got in through the grounds and caught Stuart unawares. Such things do happen.'

🙄.

FMD

I feel so sad for Stuart Lubbock’s Dad - not only losing his son (& the way he did) & not just because they’ve all got away with it, but so much so because it’s destroyed almost all his memories of his son before that night.

Heartbreaking for him again & again & again.

AmelieTaylor · 07/02/2020 11:16

WTAF did they think they were doing inviting MB on to DOI? Anyone involved in that decision needs to take a good hard look at their moral compass. FMD

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 07/02/2020 11:20

It has always struck me that Barrymore's teams attempt to explain the horrific injuries to Stuart as being caused by hospital staff using a rectal thermometer, were not just wildly improbable, but revealed that they knew exactly how the injuries occurred.

Shame that they didn't stop and think that a pool thermometer and a hospital thermometer are very different sizes.

The police

Pulpfiction1 · 07/02/2020 11:33

is the other documentary available anywhere?

Lipz · 07/02/2020 11:34

On the thermometer, it wasn't a normal thermometer, it was a pool one. It was quite large, had a big square head on it and 4 jagged edges. At least 3 of the The pathologists said the injuries suffered matched this type thermometer as the head on it was about the size of the injuries and there were also 4 jagged injuries inside Stuart. There are police pictures of the thermometer beside the pool. This disappeared when the PA went in to clean up. They also said that the injuries were similar to fisting. But the cuts internally matched a pool thermometer.

Just reading the statements the other men gave. I hadn't realised that one was MB partner at the time. I had said in my previous post they were all strangers. So MB then partner and the bouncer guy. Big guy who looked as shifty as fuck ( sorry can't remember their names) they said that they both were in the hot tub, Stuart was doing dive bombs in the pool, they both got out of hot tub leaving Stuart in pool, they went to MB bedroom and spoke for 20 mins, during this time MB came into bedroom and changed into shorts to go swimming, MB left bedroom to go to pool and that's when MB said he found Stuart. Is it possible the 2 guys raped and murdered him, and after Stuart had the heart attack they left him in the pool to die, and MB didn't see and did just found him ? Would MB be covering up as one was his partner ? But now I'm thinking as they are not together loyalties die. Or was MB involved, was he with them and not in the house as he claims, maybe the 3 guy's were in the hot tub, and Stuart in the pool, the 3 of them raped and killed him and the 3 of them went inside the house and left his body in the pool. Waited 20 mins and MB comes out pretending he's found the body.

It's really confusing trying to piece it together. So many lies, such a botch up of the police. What the hell were the others doing (the females) pictured indicate drinking went on in the kitchen which I'm assuming is near the pool or there is at least a window ? Why did they wait 45 mins to call the police after finding the body. Why did MB say in the call that he hadn't been out for 4 months and this happens, why did he REALLY run.

So many questions

MarthasGinYard · 07/02/2020 11:38

How on Earth was that Crime scene left so open to contamination?

Massive injustice
