Is it just me? I've heard rave reviews about her and I've tried many times but I just can't hear the words! Every time one of her songs comes on the radio I have to turn it up really loud and even then I can't understand a word!

I prefer it to shouty (Adele) or screechy (Sam Smith.) I’ve only noticed how horrible their voices are since I recently got an Alexa.

@BlueHarry, if you watch television, the Calvin kline advert features 'bad guy'.

I first saw her at Glastonbury. She reminds me of Pink in terms of stage energy. I can understand her fine, I'm 52.

I like her, she speaks honestly about her MH struggles and totally gets sexism/exploitation. Which was refreshing, from a then, 17 year old.

A lot of the new music 'talent' could merge into one, there's very little difference between them. She stands out.

There's an article here about the sounds in her songs and ASMR etc. I find it relaxing www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/billie-eilish-asmr-sounds-2478496

Orangeblossom78 · 05/02/2020 09:48

However, I don't actually like the ASMR version or those videos in general, people do though

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/02/2020 21:48

I had never heard of ASMR orange blossom, thanks for linking that article! I'm off to disappear down a whispery/apple crunchy YouTube rabbit hole..... 😁

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/02/2020 21:53

Before I go, this is the lady I was thinking of. She's actually Swedish apparently. Sounds nothing like Billie Eilish, but tickles my brain in the same way.... Which is the ASMR I have just learned!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 05/02/2020 22:09

I don't really get the hype around her. Just reminds me of a sullen teenager, annoying, teenager.

TantricTwist · 05/02/2020 22:12

I can hear her and my hearing is well dodge. My DD loves her, we both do actually, so I bought us tickets for the O2 later on this year to see her. Really looking forward to it.

Last time we went there we saw Adele together. We have varied tastes.

Upherefordancing · 06/02/2020 09:30

OP I thought exactly the same and couldn't understand my DD's obsession with her, until I saw this on tv from Glastonbury last year and was blown away.

If someone had told me last year that I would go on to spend £220 to see her 02 Arena show in July I would have laughed...
