Pooing in the en suite!!

MisfitNinja · 03/02/2020 08:08

Settle an age old debate between myself and my DH:

Shitting in the en suite:

Yes or no?

I say no, as it will stink the bedroom out and he disagrees and says that it doesn't matter. If he needs to go he'll go whichever toilets closets!!

@KellyHall....re en-suites on holiday, i always send DH for a little stroll to use the toilets normally located by reception for a dump.

adaline · 03/02/2020 09:52

I make DH use the loos in the reception area of hotels. I’m not spending time trapped in a hotel room with that smell lingering!

Jesus fuck.

If a man came on here and said he banned his wife from using the toilet in their hotel room the thread would be full of LTB's.

Yesterdayforgotten · 03/02/2020 09:52

Good thinking @Bakedbrie but poor reception staff 🤢

GiveHerHellFromUs · 03/02/2020 09:52

She’s asking if you shit in the next/later/afterwards.

Are you trying to pretend you're more intelligent than us because you can speak French?
En-suite is in the English dictionary as meaning an adjoining room that's part of the same set of rooms.

Trahira · 03/02/2020 09:55

A toilet is for pooing in.

Skyejuly · 03/02/2020 09:56

No rules here. I've never been grossed out by any hideous smells by dh yet but I guess it depends on diet.

sanityisamyth · 03/02/2020 09:58

As long as it's not in the shower I don't see what the problem is!

mastertomsmum · 03/02/2020 10:00

Oh my gosh, a bathroom is a bathroom. A loo gets used as a loo wherever it is.

I'm esp lols at the downstairs loo not being used for poop. Do you tell visitors that!?

What happens in a hotel? Hold it all week!!

StillWeRise · 03/02/2020 10:02

I really don't get why male poo is supposed to be worse or take longer. Are all your DPs eating a different diet to you? Or do you think there's some fundamental difference in digestive processes?
Everybody's shit smells. I think maybe you just don't notice your own so much because you are gradually exposed to it during the shitting process.
FWIW I agree that there is something a bit gross about an ensuite (and it annoys me as a noun, ensuite surely describes a bathroom) but if you have one it is crazy control freakery to not allow someone to use it for it's intended purpose.

lottiegarbanzo · 03/02/2020 10:03

The only relevant point is that it matters to you.

This is about him recognising that your feelings matter and that whether or not he feels the same thing is irrelevant. Kindness has nothing to do with rightness.

I thought this was going to be a thread about builders.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 03/02/2020 10:05

Get some V.I.Poo

or a cork.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 03/02/2020 10:07

It is a problem in hotels but should be manageable at home

MisfitNinja · 03/02/2020 10:08

@Stillwerise my DH does eat a lot of spicy food and is vegan. He batch cooks a veggie curry to take for his lunch at work each day so his diet is different to mine.

Hoppinggreen · 03/02/2020 10:08

With us it’s ok if nobody in the bedroom or it’s an unexpected upgrade but not if someone’s in bed and you go in specifically for a poo

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 03/02/2020 10:10

That is why en suites are gross

AhoyMrBeaver · 03/02/2020 10:11

She’s asking if you shit in the next/later/afterwards

Oh! We've all misunderstood! Well done for pointing that out; what idiots we must look for using the accepted meaning of en suite in English instead of the literal translation.

Well obviously there's no shitting in the afterwards. We're not fucking animals.

AryaStarkWolf · 03/02/2020 10:12

We have a window in our ensuite so it's fine (as long as there's no one in the bedroom at the time)

Yesterdayforgotten · 03/02/2020 10:13

'Everybody's shit smells.'

Not according to some posters who claim their dh's are shitting glitter and unicorns because their diet supposedly means they dont have a smell!

Drabarni · 03/02/2020 10:14

can't stand ensuites, who wants to wee and poo in their bedroom, thry're disgusting.

Inherdefence · 03/02/2020 10:16

This is one of those MN threads that totally mystifies me. Are people really so sensitive and how does the smell of their shit linger so? I poo in whatever loo is nearest. It’s never occurred to me to do anything else. If I’m in my room I don’t walk past the en-suite to one further away. I poo, flush and wash my hands. There is no ‘faecal fug’. If ever I did a poo that smelt so bad that flushing it away didn’t clear the air I’d open the bathroom window and close the door to the bedroom until the ensuite smelt fresh again.

roarfeckingroar · 03/02/2020 10:16

YANBU

Never in the en suite (except for me, because it's mine)

AhoyMrBeaver · 03/02/2020 10:17

can't stand ensuites, who wants to wee and poo in their bedroom, thry're disgusting.

That's like saying using the toilet in the main bathroom is basically shitting on the landing.

It's a separate room, not a toilet in the place of a bedside table.

adaline · 03/02/2020 10:20

can't stand ensuites, who wants to wee and poo in their bedroom, thry're disgusting.

So if you shit in a bathroom, is it the same as shitting in the hallway?

If not, what's the difference? Hmm

Yesterdayforgotten · 03/02/2020 10:21

'If ever I did a poo that smelt so bad that flushing it away didn’t clear the air I’d open the bathroom window and close the door to the bedroom until the ensuite smelt fresh again.'

If only everybodies other halfs were all so courteous and didnt leave door ajar and sit on toilet for lengthy amounts of time while offensive smell starts to linger in the bedroom.
