I want company... AIBU to ask why you’re awake?

Hi all,
I’ve got sore legs and I’m not tired, so I’m watching The Stranger on Netflix, and crocheting a scarf for my Grandmother. What about you? Ooh I do love a late night chatty thread!

4 week old had her last feed at 3 and I've been watching trashy films downstairs. Husband has a sleep apnoea appointment that he's had to head down south for so we've been downstairs so he can get 6 hrs on the machine. We've ended up formula feeding 😢 which kills me every time I have to make up a bottle and could just be in bed instead. Wish I could have done it better but it just didn't work out for us.

Been up since 3am with back pain. I've had this pain for three years but it's got so bad recently that I'm off work, and tramadol doesn't even touch it. It's getting a bit old now. Sad I can hear my 3yo stirring so I'm sure he'll keep me company soon. ❤️ May we all sleep well tonight (although it's going to be another long day)!

Awww hope everybody’s ok nowFlowers I fell asleep at 5.50am, but I managed a number of rows of the scarf while I was awake, so at least I was productive.

Who knew newborn nappies (well month and a half old) could be so grim!

The wind here is wild. DP is talking and gesticulating in his sleep which is keeping me amused.
I've just remembered I was dreaming about making a kebab in the slow cooker but the person who was here with me was my ex. Confused

I'm a regular night owl these days, it's easy to self indulge when you're on your own. I watched 'Law & Order SVU' and am now watching 'Bramwell'.

To the first poster, I intend to watch 'The Stranger' too.

@Poochnewbie oh poor you, hope you’re ok. Did anything in particular set you off that you want to chat about?

@AvocadoSink it was a stinker... but poor six week old DS is a bit constipated I think, and weirdly I found that dirty nappy more harrowing than the explosions!

Thank you but I genuinely have no idea what’s triggered it. I felt so well and was literally just thinking that I had t had one for years and how good it felt and it just hit me...
And this time it’s hitting hard.

I'm awake because we're in an air bnb in Scotland and DD woke up crying so put her between us and then above us started having very loud squeaky sex so we had to endure that for far longer than I thought possible! I can still hear their pillow talk now and their fucking dog whining through the wall to be let in.

So sorry for AwdBovril and hope there is some possibility for permanent housing.

I wake up at 3am to 4am most nights to use the loo then browse MN until I go back to sleep. I think it's some kind of post menopause reprogramming.

One of the cats has now learned my pattern of being awake and comes up on the bed nudging and head butting me until I stroke him.
