Hi all,
I’ve got sore legs and I’m not tired, so I’m watching The Stranger on Netflix, and crocheting a scarf for my Grandmother. What about you? Ooh I do love a late night chatty thread!

@AmericanHousewifeFan I don’t know what it’s from, but it’s chronic, the doctor fobs me off and has done for 5-6 years. I don’t have any painkillers, so I’m just taking my mind off it. Can you put in earphones and listen to white noise? That always sends me to sleep.

I'm awake because our CO monitor has gone off- DH thinks I'm overreacting and has gone back to sleep!!!
I've rung 112 and I'm waiting for an emergency engineer to come out.

SimonJT · 03/02/2020 02:29

Usual insomnia, I would normally read a book or something similar but I don’t want to wake my boyfriend as he has a bad cold.

Breastfeedingworries · 03/02/2020 02:32

worried about my friends son, and how her not loving him or bonding with him at all since birth (hes 9 now) will affect him in life. She was forced to have him young, her mother threatened to disown her if she had an abortion. She’s so mixed up about it all. Nothings black and white. sad

Silentnight87 · 03/02/2020 02:32

I'm awake because I've only in the last two minutes got our one year old to sleep. After struggling since 10 to put her down again. FML. Just waiting for her to go deep into her sleep before taking her up and trying not to wake her up with those bloody stair gates slamming each time.

Also mental note to watch the stranger. I quite like bojack horseman on Netflix. Adult cartoon that deals with topical themes in today's society.

AngeloMysterioso · 03/02/2020 02:32

Just finishing bf-ing 13wk DS and can’t seem to get to sleep. I’ll pay for it tomorrow

LuluJakey1 · 03/02/2020 02:35

Ds2 6months, has had an hour of being awake and just wanting to be cuddled. Am now in bed - he is back asleep- and am wide awake. DH is fast asleep.

hellcarryingahandbag · 03/02/2020 02:36

I’ve just put on a cardigan, it’s frozen!

That sounds awful OP. Not being able to sleep is a temporary thing for me luckily.

Thanks to everyone having a hard time. I hope it improves soon.

beckycharlie · 03/02/2020 02:39

Cleaning up my sons sick, we've all had a tummy bug and he was finally 48 hours free then was sick again and now I'm scared we will all get it again!

KennyRogersWasNotInStarWars · 03/02/2020 02:39

I’ve had sleep problems most of my life so I’m awake partially because of that and partially because I ate really spicy fajitas and have given myself a stomach ache 🙈😂🙄

Pyjamaface · 03/02/2020 02:44

I'm watching the Superbowl, desperate for a wee but daren't in case I miss something

DeadCucumber · 03/02/2020 02:45

I'm on nights, so I'm at work. Ugh. I'm so tired.

Songsofexperience · 03/02/2020 02:45

@AwdBovril
Flowers
Hugs for all who are in pain or worried tonight.
I've had horrible bouts of insomnia over the last couple of years and DD2 is unwell (has had about 6 nasty ear or throat infections in the last 3 months. It's exhausting.
I'm also worried about the future and my marriage is on its last legs.

Morning campers.... Zzzz
I'm breast feeding DD. Woke up DH because I changed her nappy... whoops!

She's been taking an hour to 90 mins to feed lately.... So I might be here for a while!!!

Ekefox · 03/02/2020 02:51

Up feeding my lovely 3 day old DC3. Trying not to get too irrationally said it's my last.

compulsiveliar2019 · 03/02/2020 02:55

I'm awake. Never been a good sleeper my brain doesn't need much excuse to refuse to switch off but tonight I think I've got just cause. Friends DC is in intensive care with sepsis and I am terrified for them. Feeling very useless and cannot begin to imagine the horror and fear they must be feeling tonight.

mnthrowaway202020 · 03/02/2020 02:59

I had a dreaded 3 hour nap and woke up at midnight, then needed to sort things for later today (that I was supposed to do instead of napping!) which has taken me a few hours. Have to be up at 6 for work so that nap has completely thrown my schedule off.

PowerslidePanda · 03/02/2020 02:59

Also feeding a baby - the eldest of my twins, so will invariably be up with the other at some point too. They're not on a schedule (to feed at the same time) because DH and I usually just take one each every night, but he has a long and busy day tomorrow so I'm covering both babies tonight.

hellcarryingahandbag · 03/02/2020 03:02

Do you ever upset yourself about random things in the middle of the night? I just started getting upset about how I’m not as good a singer as Charley Webb from Emmerdale’s son. I’m quite good but not as good as himSad

Menopausal and teacher insomnia

HmmIsThisAGoodIdea · 03/02/2020 03:07

@Pyjamaface hope you've managed to hang in there and haven't missed anything, it's all been happening in these last 20 mins! Grin

ClareBlue · 03/02/2020 03:09

Don't ignore you carbon monoxide alarm. You have absolutely no way of detecting it apart from your alarm and it can build up in your blood stream and kill you. They are actually very rarely faulty and not sensitive to dust like general smoke alarms. You did the right thing it calling it in.

Instatwat · 03/02/2020 03:11

Another one breastfeeding. We should start a club! She’s feeding from my least-preferred side too, which always makes me a bit cringy.
