Hi all,
I’ve got sore legs and I’m not tired, so I’m watching The Stranger on Netflix, and crocheting a scarf for my Grandmother. What about you? Ooh I do love a late night chatty thread!

@ClareBlue have you got the wrong thread?

Hi to each and every one of you Flowers
Just had my 3am toilet visit (tmi) and always read mumsnet for an hour to get backto sleep.
What an amazing variety of circumstances. What a great thread.

Bobleywobley · 03/02/2020 03:14

*isn't it wierd the way things lurk about to worry you in the night. It can be a wierd, lonely time if you're ill or anxious.

Dennisreynoldsduster · 03/02/2020 03:18

I just managed to fall asleep but DS had a little cough in his sleep (think possibly linked to reflux) so I jolted awake and had to sit him up a bit. He’s only six weeks and it always worries me when he coughs Incase he can’t get his breath back.
He’s sleeping peacefully again and I am now wide awake again.

Sorry to anyone in troubling circumstances or having bad times :(

BritWifeinUSA · 03/02/2020 03:18

Watching the Super Bowl!

Ofalltheginjoints · 03/02/2020 03:19

Also watching the Super Bowl and what a game it was!

I’m generally awake during the night due to chronic pain but tonight it doesn’t matter

Instatwat · 03/02/2020 03:19

@hellcarryingahandbag, @ClareBlue hadn’t got the wrong thread, she’s replying to @pemberlyshades’ message about her CO alarm.

hellcarryingahandbag · 03/02/2020 03:20

The Super Bowl is a (American) football game. The final one of the season; the two best teams of the season play. I think Kansas City won.

puds11 · 03/02/2020 03:27

@pemberlyshades open your windows.

hellcarryingahandbag · 03/02/2020 03:28

Oh O.K I didn’t know that! Thanks @steff13!

BritWifeinUSA · 03/02/2020 03:29

@steff13 The Chiefs certainly did win! It was a great game.

Pyjamaface · 03/02/2020 03:29

@HmmIsThisAGoodIdea I made it! Grin

Ofalltheginjoints · 03/02/2020 03:33

It was a fantastic game! The scoreline flattered they Chiefs but as a neutral it was brilliant and makes up for last years Super Bowl!

pinklemonade84 · 03/02/2020 03:34

I'm wide awake with period cramps and I've got dd in bed with me as dh has got to be up at 6am to take our car to the garage for a replacement windscreen. So, I'm browsing mumsnet and looking at Pinterest for ideas for dd's bedroom

clairindespair · 03/02/2020 03:38

7 week old recovered from bronchiolitis who now thinks 3am is morning and time to be stimulated...no son sleep please 🤣

Frenchw1fe · 03/02/2020 03:39

My dog wanted to go out. Now I'm wide awake and have to take my dm shopping at 9 so could do with a bit more sleep.
Going to spray my pillow with lavender sleep spray.

Valenciaoranges · 03/02/2020 03:39

Really hope the family in the homeless shelter get somewhere permanent.
Mild concussion which has really aggravated my tinnitus - feels like my head is about to explode - the noise is horrendous. Tried all the usual...

Panicmode1 · 03/02/2020 03:43

My dog has just been sick and is now sitting in the garden 'moonbathing' and won't come inside. So I'm sitting in the kitchen waiting until she decides she's cold and I can go back to bed, and phone the vet first thing.....

Sorry to hear everyone's awake. I've had insomnia for years so am fairly used to being awake at this time of night.

Hollyhobbi · 03/02/2020 03:44

Chronic insomniac here. Got very bad after an emergency hysterectomy in 2016. Have a lot of health problems now including primary hyperparathyroidism and hypothyroidism. Need another op to try and cure the first disease but surgeon refusing to operate until the fecking gland shows on a scan. Have chronic pain and other problems due to it, had two DVTs (on Warfarin for life now) I also have osteoporosis which is getting worse while waiting on a second op for the first disease, sciatica from a bulging disc which the osteoporosis isn't helping, bone pain from all the calcium being pulled out of my bones into my blood stream, chronic thirst cause my body wants to dilute my blood so the calcium level in the blood decreases, peeing a lot at night due to the extra fluid intake. The Warfarin lead to the hysterectomy and removal of my ovaries and I can't take HRT because of the DVTs so I went straight into a surgical menopause which definitely doesn't help matters. Sometimes I'm amazed I'm still aliveGrin.

Hollyhobbi · 03/02/2020 03:48

Plus the tinnitus I've had 24/7 since I was about 19 is very loud tonight. Also worrying about getting together the cost of a new pair of hearing aids which will be about €1,500 after a Government grant of €1,000. The tinnitus I have is causing deafness or the deafness is causing the tinnitus🤔

WriteronaMission · 03/02/2020 03:53

I've suffered from insomnia for years.

I'm not expecting to sleep for another few hours (not in the UK but it is night time) at least unless the pain meds I've taken knock me out. Had my wisdom teeth out, got an infection, and now in a lot of pain so sleep is even harder to come by until I end up exhausted or the meds kick in.
