To think that if I'm unsubscribed from all MN emails, they shouldn't keep emailing me?

I keep getting emails about polls that I've voted in. EVERY time I click to unsubscribe from all emails. I've also checked 'Manage email preferences' and everything is unticked. I don't want any emails from Mumsnet. STOP SENDING THEM.

You need to unsubscribe. It seems to be a new feature and everyone was opted in by default. You can just opt out. Annoying, but easily fixable.

bridgetreilly · 01/02/2020 13:04

But where? I'm unsubscribed from all the options under email preferences and yet the onslaught continues.

And MN, please could you make these emails opt in, not opt out in future.

I’ve unsubscribed three times this past week by scrolling to the bottom of the actual email and clicking “unsubscribe from all emails”.

I still keep getting the fucking things.

PurpleDaisies · 01/02/2020 13:09

I also have unsubscribed multiple times but I keep getting them.

Who actually wants that email anyway? Daft idea.

PurpleDaisies · 01/02/2020 13:10

I unsubscribed via talk preferences and email preferences.

bridgetreilly · 01/02/2020 13:10

I'm glad it's not just me. If I've unsubscribed from all emails (MULTIPLE times), I should be unsubscribed from ALL emails.

Sort yourselves out, Mumsnet.

Maybe better to email them directly?

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/02/2020 13:13

Wouldn't it be better to post this in Site ?

YouFellAsleeep · 01/02/2020 13:13

Same here. SO annoying!

JellyfishandShells · 01/02/2020 13:19

It is very annoying - it stopped for a while and started again. There is a thread in Site Stuff and MNHQ have said they are trying to get to the bottom of it www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3798474-New-emails-about-updates?pg=2

It’s not easily fixable. I’ve already unsubscribed from everything twice this month. MN keeps re-subscribing me,. It’s not ok. It’s annoying and unprofessional. It happened at the weekend last time.

I’ve unsubscribe using the link on the unwanted emails and by changing my email preferences etc. For a company that has already been hit by data breach issues you would think they would be more careful.

It’s not complicated stuff. Mumsnet looks to be a profitable endeavor, I suggest some of the profits go towards sorting out these types of problems.
(It also be good if they didn’t rely on the goodwill of MN volunteers - AKA the Night Watch and actually paid people to do their business)

AFirst · 01/02/2020 13:31

No one from MNHQ is responding on that thread coz it the weekend 🙄
I imagine the OP on this thread thought she might get more traffic on this topic

@MNHQ

CoffeeCoinneseur · 01/02/2020 13:31

Here’s a screenshot of my inbox taken 2 minutes ago and can I assure you all I’ve unsubscribed every which way I can - via my personal settings, and by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of every email.

To think that if I'm unsubscribed from all MN emails, they shouldn't keep emailing me?
CoffeeCoinneseur · 01/02/2020 13:34

Oh and pretty much all of these are polls and threads I haven't even clicked on or voted on Hmm

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/02/2020 13:35

Sorry Afirst I hadn't realised that someone has already posted in Site.
I really think it's time they have moderaters here 24/7

Apileofballyhoo · 01/02/2020 13:35

I'd vote YANBU except then I'll get a pile of annoying emails again.

I wouldn't actually mind getting emails to threads I've posted on, but the whole point of the voting feature is to avoid further engagement. I only use it to agree/disagree without actually posting.

HalfSizeMe · 01/02/2020 13:40

I've reported them as spam. I still get them, but at least they don't clog up my inbox.

Chihaha · 01/02/2020 13:43

Ita your talk preferences you change not email. It's very very annoying, link is in body of email not at the bottom.

CoffeeCoinneseur · 01/02/2020 13:49

@Chihaha I can promise you there isn't a thing on my Mumsnet account that says I'm signed up to any emails. I've done everything I can to unsubscribe in every possible setting.

Chihaha · 01/02/2020 13:52

It's under the purple box.

To think that if I'm unsubscribed from all MN emails, they shouldn't keep emailing me?
CoffeeCoinneseur · 01/02/2020 13:53

@Chihaha yes I know, I've done that, numerous times.

ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 13:54

So have you contacted MNHQ directly or not?

DamnItsSevenAM · 01/02/2020 13:54

Same here. Unsubscribed, keep getting updates.

ilovesooty · 01/02/2020 13:56

Could you report your own post to get it looked at?

Chihaha · 01/02/2020 13:57

I clicked unsubscribe and checked and I was unsubscribed so didnt understand why I was still getting them. Theres a new box under talk settings with the polls which has been automatically ticked by the looks of it.
