Btw, apple pips contain cyanide...but you've got to eat the equivalent of a sack of monkey nuts (probably, a lot anyway) to be poisoned.
Whole apples, no problem. Whole monkey nuts, unusual, not how I do it, but revolting is going a bit far. There's worse things in the world...

In Five Guys they have monkey nuts that you can eat the shells. I thought it was bonkers but they're actually rather tasty!

The two near me have big signs saying you shouldn't eat the shells.

And a girl at school never bothered bringing in an apple for break, she just used to eat all our cores. Absolutely nothing to do with her family being skint, they weren't by a long way. She just liked the cores.
