I have just discovered, by accident, that if you open another tab in your web browser, you can click on the tab and drag it away so that you have a second separate browser open at the same time. I don't mean split screen but like you have opened a separate thing. Did you all know this already?

I know this is a pathetic thing to get excited about but I was literally like this Shock and then giddy with excitement.

AIBU to be be pleased with my discovery?

You can boiled eggs and cook spaghetti and noodles in the kettle.

How does this work as the kettle switches itself off at boiling point? If you have a hob kettle you may as well put a pan on. (just curious).

Back to waffles: from frozen and on the defrost setting?!

Beldon · 31/01/2020 11:01

Waffles you just cook twice on normal toaster setting and they done

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 31/01/2020 11:02

My favourite computer hack is the snipping tool. You can take an image of anything on your screen and save it or paste it in any document you like. Revolutionary!!

Beldon · 31/01/2020 11:06

The proper way to unfold, crush and open oxo cube made me feel stupid for not knowing

Somanysocks · 31/01/2020 11:06

I only found out about screenshots recently when my phone slipped through my fingers and must've grabbed the correct buttons. I didn't know what it was before then. Blush

Houseyhousey · 31/01/2020 11:07

The small brown coins that you are sometimes given in change are actually legal tender. I’d been putting them straight in the bin!

@recrudescence please tell me you're joking Shock I empty my purse daily of 1p & 2p coins and saved over £100 last year.

HavenDilemma · 31/01/2020 11:07

Hmm🤦🏼‍♀️

attillathenun · 31/01/2020 11:09

My favourite random thing like this is the little side arrow next to the petrol pump sign on your vehicles fuel gauge indicates which side the fuel cap is on. Blows peoples minds every time!

windycuntryside · 31/01/2020 11:14

Wash clothes inside out to save fading and bobbling. Especially black jeans, fading not bobbling obviously.
I’m fact with age I have a new rule if it’s not dirty I don’t wash it.

windycuntryside · 31/01/2020 11:17

Never iron . Hang things in cost hangers.
Use hair straighteners for collars if you must.
Wrap long hair in a bun during the day and have wavy hair in the evening. Don’t waste time curling.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 31/01/2020 11:19

@attillathenun my car doesn't have a little arrow and it always confuses me, but the handle of the pump on the gauge is the side of the fuel cap so I guess that's maybe the same thing?

paap1975 · 31/01/2020 11:21

You can get special pouches for cooking toasties in a taoster

SoCrimeaRiver · 31/01/2020 11:23

The little arrow indicating your fuel cap in the car doesn't work for all models. My current car has it, my previous car, a 55 plate, didn't.

sunshinesupermum · 31/01/2020 11:26

That bras should only fit on the largest hook when you buy them as they loosen with wear

Spat out my coffee!

SpoonBlender · 31/01/2020 11:30

@Shadowcats Probably too late now, but control-Z is undo the last action in most places.

Another toaster one: frozen garlic bread slices. 12 minutes under a grill? No! Twice through the toaster!

thefamousfiveplusone · 31/01/2020 11:32

This was a revelation to me....! Who knew 🤷🏼‍♀️

@polkadotpj On an iPhone with a home button, swipe the screen to the left (I think! Else right :D) and you get the camera app. On a 10 or later, there's an icon on the front screen to press hard or press-and-hold.

SmallChickBilly · 31/01/2020 11:39

If you accidentally close down a tab you wanted (happens to me all the time as I usually have a million tabs open) you can hit control + shift + T and it will restore your most recently closed tab.

Hingeandbracket · 31/01/2020 11:47

No it isn’t although it is often circulated as fact when it’s actually a hoax

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 31/01/2020 11:48

Putting frozen waffles, etc in your toaster will eventually make everything soggy, due to the build up of gunk, no matter how much you clean it. Better to pop it in a taster bag. Keeps your toaster clean and cooks the food quicker.

OP, I keep doing that with those bloody tags, by accident, but how the hell do you get your normal screen back? I keep having to delete the extra page!

Peachesforfree · 31/01/2020 11:51

@Cohle that fact has blown my mind. Although I can't actually think of how that would be useful in the real world.

CadburyFlake · 31/01/2020 11:52

Can't believe someone here has been chucking out money.

It must be a wind up - how can you not know that coppers are actual money!?!?!
