Started a new thread on the off chance () that something funny might happen in my street later. Maybe around 10pm...

Oh and miss marple/ poirot has to park in the street too just to add to the drama & frustration ( in a 1920s vintage car obvs)

I see this more as a Tommy and Tuppence one even though they are shite.

We need alliterative names . . .

sunshinesupermum · 31/01/2020 11:24

LakieLady Your post needs thread of its own so we can follow the shenanigans! Could you be Knats Cock Parking please? LOL

VenusClapTrap · 31/01/2020 11:27

I’d love to see an animation of this.

A while ago dd’s class went to a cross country event at another school. The dc were transported there and back by volunteer parents. I was warned by a friend not to park in the side street by the school as ‘they can be a bit funny about it’, and luckily I managed to squeeze my car into a space on the main road.

Another transporting parent wasn’t so lucky, and she had to park in the side street as there was nowhere else. When she returned to her car after the event with the gaggle of six year olds that she was transporting, someone had spray painted CUNT all over her car.

Flavarings · 31/01/2020 12:23

Oooh another thread.. I totally think this needs printing off and posting on street lamps!

Jojo2wyatr · 31/01/2020 12:24

Btw, I have gotten so invested in all the fun that I woke up at 3:30 AM (since I'm in Southern Calif) to check in to see what was happening with the gang on alphabet street. Currently, I am about to suffocate because I'm looking at my mobile with the duvet pulled over my head so as not to wake my DH...he caught me, though in his middle -of- the- night loo run. Fortunately he is a cheery guy who is unfazed by anything he catches me up to Grin
Good night MNeters....can't wait to see what has happened on Alphabet St whilst I've been asleep

originalcatlady · 31/01/2020 12:24

I think I have just witnessed the ultimate in reserving your space. Mrs B has just been collected for work. There may not be an evening episode this Friday 😢

Can’t wait for more.....

MaggieFS · 31/01/2020 12:54

If I've managed to follow, B is in x/1 and C is in 1/2, so does that leave half of 2 and 3 free? Scope for someone to park up against C in 2/3 and leave B parked like a twat for the foreseeable?

LakieLady · 31/01/2020 12:59

@sunshinesupermum, I doubt if it will ever get particularly interesting, because almost everyone in our street is too polite to engage in parking wars. No-one really gets to a point beyond a bit of mild tutting.

The man in the adjoining house, who is known as Mr Big Pants, because he is tiny and his wife used to hang his enormous y-fronts (seen on the washing line and I kid you not, the gusset was approx 9" across, although in fairness I never climbed into their garden to measure them) used to move his car from his drive the minute the space outside his house was empty. He must have mellowed as he's aged, like a good cheese.

Next door but not adjoined (the one who might be going a bit nutty) gets peeved because Big Pants Jnr parks a car up here but lives in the town centre. He's avoiding having to pay the exorbitant charge for a 2nd resident's permit and already has a company van. Ms Bit-Nutty is deeply aggrieved by this, especially since I explained why he does it.

No-one does anything though, they just moan about it.

sunshinesupermum · 31/01/2020 13:17

B is definitely cheating and being even more stupid than usual if she's frightened to drive her car to work in case she can't get her two spaces when she gets home tonight.

Guess that means her car stays in situ for the whole weekend? How dare she deprive Mumsnetters of their enjoyment? How very dare she?

sunshinesupermum · 31/01/2020 13:21

MrBigPants and hs 9" gussets ... I am crying here! So glad DP has gone out and can't see me ROFL here.
