Started a new thread on the off chance () that something funny might happen in my street later. Maybe around 10pm...

Diagram below for the handful of people in the country that haven't printed it off yet...

oobieloo · 05/02/2020 20:59

I love all of this

SunshineCake · 05/02/2020 21:08

I have a pet version of alphabet land.

Kitten is in dogs bed.
Dog is on my sofa.
Other cat is on my sofa's arm.

originalcatlady · 05/02/2020 21:19

But are any of them wearing a pink dressing gown?

And are they touching?

OP posts:
HopeYouStepOnALego · 05/02/2020 21:29

Where are Gary and Barry when you need them?!

🤣🤣🤣

sunshinesupermum · 05/02/2020 21:32

sunshinecake just love your parking version of Alphabet Street! I hope they all have pink coats?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/02/2020 21:41

In retrospect, I'm absolutely disgusted by the self-appointed parking warden in the very quiet street mentioned upthread, who got himself a yellow hi-vis jacket as a symbol of his authority (the one who later abdicated as he knew felt that his irritating nosey-parkerage hard work was unappreciated).

Only a rank amateur wouldn't have known that the industry standard uniform for such a rank is actually a fluffy fuchsia dressing gown (peek-a-boo flaps optional).

SunshineCake · 05/02/2020 22:16

Pink coats, collars, dressing gowns, leads and harnesses have been order immediately in amazon prime.

No one was touching but boy cat and kitten cat kissed earlier and yesterday kitten brought herself at the dog.

SunshineCake · 05/02/2020 22:17

Kitten threw herself..

FloraFox · 05/02/2020 22:43

Sorry to be thick (I have RTFTs) but why does B have problems parking in just 1 when X is empty behind it? Clearly she is useless at parking but wouldn't 1 be a double spot when X is empty? It seems so weird if it is just that she wants to line her car door up to her front door when it is clearly causing so much hassle for herself and the neighbours.

Maybe not getting this due to having lived so long in a place where you're lucky to get parked on your own street never mind outside your house.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/02/2020 23:21

Please, Fox.

B's mind is made up. She will approach her chosen spot from her chosen direction and at her chosen angle no matter how batshit these choices may be.

Please don't try to confuse her with your common sense and technical ability.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/02/2020 23:51

I come all over Fred Wedlock when I read this thread.

"Oh, arr, thee's been an' got'n wur thee casn't back'n asn't,
'Ow be's goin' to get'n out o' there?
Without a corkscrew?"

Chocpear · 06/02/2020 01:03

@Florafox, I think as X is a designated disabled space, B Is not legally allowed to park in X? Although C flouts these rules, badly done!

Chocpear · 06/02/2020 01:05

Duh, sorry, I misunderstood, you meant why can’t B use X space when manoeuvring into space 1. I still can’t get over B’s entitlement in using up spaces 1 and 2 just so she can be parked right next to her front door.

BoomBoomsCousin · 06/02/2020 01:46

I still can’t get over B’s entitlement in using up spaces 1 and 2 just so she can be parked right next to her front door.

I suspect it's more to do with her fear of being trapped by people parking reasonably on either side of her. If she's between 1&2 then even if someone's "but is it touching" on her bumper in 2/3 and someone happens to be in X she's still got half of 1 between her and X so sh can get out. And she hopes that instead someone will park in 3 and no one will park in X so she can get out without really maneuvering at all.

Which is still entitled and down to being unable to drive properly. Have to wonder how she passed her test, really.

Jojo2wyatr · 06/02/2020 02:24

@HopeYouStepOnALego
I did it...I wore my "sorry I'm late" tshirt to the gps office! Do I win a prize for being brave? I'll take one of those Alphabet Street tshirts that will be arriving at a shop near you real soon!
Btw, nurse loved it...especially when i told her the GP made me come in...the GP, not so much....I guess she had REAL patients to attend to

Chocpear · 06/02/2020 02:26

Boomboomscousin, good point that it is probably not about wanting to be parked exactly next to her front door to minimise how far she must walk, but her poor parking ability. As you say, it is still entitled though as she shows no awareness that is her problem and not one the street should be inconvenienced by.

Els1e · 06/02/2020 05:31

Go you Jojo. Great tee shirt. 😁

Jojo2wyatr · 06/02/2020 05:49

@Els1e Grin

Weenurse · 06/02/2020 07:58

Settles in for the night...
So who is where again?
That’s right, C is trapped, carry on.....
🍸🍿

originalcatlady · 06/02/2020 08:49

Ooo you're late to the party...another day, another car dance.

B managed to rev her way out this morning, so C knew nothing of her trapped-ness. Everyone's gone to work, tune in later for the fun.

OP posts:
Ineedanap90 · 06/02/2020 09:02

Why must B rev so much is it the car equivalent of when a peacock speeds its feathers to assert its dominance?.. Or perhaps she's just that bad a driver. We've had enough proof of that one.. Did the K's ever come home? Are they still partying? I pray they park in space 1 and 2

originalcatlady · 06/02/2020 09:06

The K's came home. They need to understand the serious implications upon our fun with all these late night outings!

OP posts:
Snazzysausage · 06/02/2020 09:06

@originalcatlady this is a brilliant thread and all the parking shenanigans are very well described - it's like we're there with you! I'm really looking forward to B working the late shift again next week - comedy gold!

HopeYouStepOnALego · 06/02/2020 09:31

@Jojo2wyatr - well done! Loving that T-shirt!
