Started a new thread on the off chance () that something funny might happen in my street later. Maybe around 10pm...

Diagram below for the handful of people in the country that haven't printed it off yet...

This has been keeping me entertained while off work after having wisdom teeth out and now an infection. Thank you for this.

Dropping a note now off the back of D's actions. Poor E! He's the nice one, right?

Supertrooper98 · 01/02/2020 21:52

Oh I just checked in. I'm so disappointed that it seems to be a quiet night!

originalcatlady · 01/02/2020 22:14

Weekends are funny. Lots of comings and goings but no screaming fits as long as B gets her place.

C came back for a bit. Sat in her car in X for a while then drove off again 🤷‍♀️

WriteronaMission · 01/02/2020 23:03

I've gone back but can't find it. What happened to the campervan?

WhoWants2Know · 01/02/2020 23:03

OP, I saw this and immediately thought of your street. Can we crowdfund a couple pairs of truck nuts to further inflame the situation?

C is probably sat there waiting for the cf who dare park in her space to move... She has probably driven off as part of a cunning plan to make people believe she has a life and isn't just sat waiting for a parking space... Little does she know we are far more invested than she anticipated

hypnovic · 02/02/2020 05:05

Thanks @originalcatlady way too much awake time so I'm going in

Ineedanap90 · 02/02/2020 06:31

Good morning. I have my tea ready for a Sunday update :) what joys can we expect today? .. Not invested at all.. I do have a life I promise ha

whataballbag · 02/02/2020 07:24

Is it today your friend is coming OP? I'm so invested in this

originalcatlady · 02/02/2020 08:40

Yes she is!

Also I've got workmen in tomorrow and I've told them they can't block my drive because of getting the pushchair in.

Can't believe you are all still finding this exciting!

Like your style

Bluetrews25 · 02/02/2020 09:09

I just had to google what truck nuts are Blush Shock

sunshinesupermum · 02/02/2020 09:12

Have you told your friend which spaces are critical that she must aim to park in? Is she a Mumsnetter and following this by a any chance?

originalcatlady · 02/02/2020 09:30

Oh she's not on here but she knows. She's been visiting for 15 years and finds it highly amusing. She's got the kids today so won't be too late but she's often here til midnight and she finds it hilarious when B comes out and watches her get into her car so she can get her space back. She smiles and waves and says hi, then takes her time driving off.

originalcatlady · 02/02/2020 09:34

Also just been watching B have an absolute fit that K is having a delivery and parked in 1/2 - D has already left and C never came home. B was at the window, opening the blinds then ran upstairs to do the same. She watched the entire thing hand on hips and telling Mr B all about it.

Mr K moved his car for the delivery and has now put it back.

mrsBtheparker · 02/02/2020 10:04

She smiles and waves and says hi, then takes her time driving off.

But as she has driven off and B gets in her car ready to reclaim 'her' fiefdom your friend remembers she's forgotten something and returns to the spot, leaving B in fuming limbo. Your friend may need another coffee because of the trauma!

This thread makes me so happy. I think it show be a permanent fixture, like Eastenders Grin

Pritchyx · 02/02/2020 10:28

Very nice, resident training PCSO here. Who doesn’t love a parking thread... makes me feel that I’m not the only one with parking dramas on the street Grin

I live at No18. No16 two doors down own 3 cars (was 4 until this week) but only 2 members of the home drive; the wife has no driving license but likes to play parking roulette so technically illegal as it’s a public highway. Anyway, Mr16 will go out in his car and Mrs16 will run out and move their car to that space as if it’s their space. Me and two neighbours have now conducted a plan that if we see them go out, we will go and attempt to nab their space to be as petulant as them and to try send a message that it isn’t their space and they cannot legally claim a space unless disabled (they are not) and that providing a vehicle is insured, taxed and you pay council tax then you can essentially park wherever the hell you like.
I came home just after midnight last night from my parents with my baby DD in tow, thankfully managed to get a space but all 3 of 16’s cars were outside the front. Went out to grab something from the car this morning, to see 16 have essentially gone out in one car and then moved the car directly outside my house to “their spot” so when Mr16 comes home, it’ll be a game of musical cars once again. I’ll attach a photo of the street and try and explain with scribbles on the top! [the white line is where the green car was less than 12 hours ago, so Mrs16 has obviously moved it. Their new car was where the green one is now; Mr16 has likely gone out to church. The middle white one is theirs too but hasn’t moved for weeks... might go move mine into that spot outside of mine just to try and irritate them so they can’t park there either]. The green and white cars belong to their grandson who is a mega twunt, and decided to knock my door at midnight when heavily pregnant and overdue to get me to move from that space (where green is now) so that they could park there. They got a swift F off and a door slammed in their face.

Can’t wait for my new landlord to apply for a dropped kerb and put a driveway in just to add insult to injury Grin

Ineedanap90 · 02/02/2020 10:59

So if K is in 1/2 (yay) where is B parked again? Sorry forgot in the birthday madness of yesterday

sunshinesupermum · 02/02/2020 11:01

Pritchyx We demand a diagram - it's Mumsnet rules! But yes do please move your car now!

You may need a whole thread of your own Alphabet Street series 2?

sunshinesupermum · 02/02/2020 11:02

Well done K. Hope they stay there for the rest of the weekend to show Mrs B what an absolute arse she is.

Bluetrews25 · 02/02/2020 11:13

Pritchyx you must get that dropped kerb and driveway!! Will feck the neighbours right off that they have lost a space! Grin

originalcatlady · 02/02/2020 11:18

B is in 1 and K is in 2. F hasn't moved from 4 again. Their delivery had 1&2 for a while this morning and B was very distressed.

OP posts:
Pritchyx · 02/02/2020 11:25

@sunshinesupermum my NDN came home as I was about to move it so she parked directly outside mine. Spoke with her RE: drive being put in; she is going to do the same to hers at some point as already has dropped kerb by her wall. This will absolutely shaft No16 Grin

Will try crack on with diagram but 9mo DD using me as obstacle course currently, so will have to be drawn up at naptime!

FuzzyAtmosphere · 02/02/2020 11:46

Does C have children? I assume so, unless she does ( in a masochistic sort of way ) do a school run just for the pleasure of trying to park near a school, thereby book-ending her morning and afternoon with parking angst.
