Aibu to expect a nappy not to explode, or to expect my children not to wake up soaked through their pjs and onto their beds.... 2 children both different ages, tried so many different brands.. and I don't really want to start changing them in the middle of the night (toddler and older child)

Any advice for good tried and tested brands????

I use a cloth nappy insert in a disposable nappy. Works a treat
Neither all cloth or just a disposable worked for mine

@Kaykay066 We had the same problem with Drynites, at some point they were leaking every night, without exceptions! As I wrote on page5 we solved the problem switching to classic nappies in bigger size (there are "adult nappies" available in small, extra small and even xxs size, obviously kids sizes but I don't know why they are still called "adult" nappies), something like these:
[https://www.amazon.co.uk/Abena-Abri-Form-Premium-Junior-40-60cm/dp/B00IK03YXC/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=youth+nappies&qid=1580671477&sr=8-1 www.amazon.co.uk/Abena-Abri-Form-Premium-Junio?tag=mumsnetforu03-21r]]
or these
[[//www.amazon.co.uk/TENA-SlipSmall]]

They will make leakages almost impossible and they are even much cheaper than Drynites. If still not enough you can add a booster pad inside like the ones AcrossthePond55 posted in second page or these:
[[//www.amazon.co.uk/Charlie-Banana-Disposable-Inserts]]

I hope it will let you avoid all the extra work and money we too spent for long months before finding something that actually worked, I can relate!
